I recently started 3 months ago and freerolled my self about 3 dollars, and then turned that into 15, playing sit and go and micro games.
The last two days Ive been on this terrible bad beat run (it defies math and probability...). I lost 5 dollars playing micro games with .01/.02 cents Blinds!!
Examples:
Some guy killed my set of 555 with a runner runner flush.
Some Other guy hit runner runner full house.
Killed straights with flushes...
3 cracked kings(3) and queens(3).
So here are the problems:
1)Its evident there are no "tricks" outplaying micro game players, you cant bluff the pot, they never fold, and if you do in the long run you loose money bluffing.
That leads to one way to make money:
-having the actual card and avoid improbable bad beats (which Ive hit the last two days)
2)In general and on average micro game players are unreadable, you might find some. But man they have no idea what their doing, theyll reraise and kill their odds for flush and straight draws and then hit it. Theyll almost never ever fold an ace either.
Theyll reraise the blids 5x with a Queen Jack and Ace 7!!
In conclusion their betting patterns make no sense.
3)You cant protect your hands. If theirs a flush or straight draw and you go all in you bet their going all in too(not all but most WILL)

I guess the MAIN question FIRST is should I wait for my bankroll to get bigger on freerolls, or continue with microgames?
Are microgames profitable? Should I move up from the .01/.02 micro games with bigger blinds (definetely not with my bankroll but wait it out?)
If so..I need is some great and in depth solid advice on microgames, starting hands and maximizing profit.

Another ovious question is does this type of player continue in the .02/.05, .05/.10, .50/1 and up area of play?

BTW this is on pokerstars

I can't say from personal experience online, but what I can say from observation, reading posts on here and what I've witnessed live is that there's donks at all levels. People with lots of money want to play poker too, they probably won't want to play the micro limits, and there's nothing to say that they're any good just because they're playing $1/$2 or $5/$10

Sounds like you've had some nasty beats, but if you keep playing solid poker you should be able to turn a profit. You're right about checking your clever moves and bluffs at the door though, they'll probably be lost on most micro limit players. Keep it simple.

there are lots of good players at low limits, lots of bad players at low limits, and tons of donks all around. Some good players decide to play small stakes like me because they are horrible at staying at the level they belong.

STORM BACK DOWNSTAIRS, GET OFF THE COMPUTER.

sorry guys but storm is right, at small stakes dont bluff. Just try to get max value in your hands and that is all you can do.

I actually found the last couple of Cardschat freerolls I played to be very civilised when it came to this :)

Except for todays freeroll. KK busted by one of the ultimate donk calls, 42s flops a flush.

Money was all in preflop.

As for the micro games. They can be beat, but not on the weekends. The donks get weekend passes.

Actually... you've got a point, picking the right times to play can be important.

I'm starting to think I'm actually kinda lucky over here - Saturday and Sunday afternoons correspond to just after midnight Friday and Saturday in the States. People have maybe had a couple of drinks or are getting a bit tired... not foolproof, but gives you a better edge than playing alert weekday players :)
