And not a moment too soon. Pity he won't take Mitch McConnell with him. It's ridiculous how politicians, the most corrupt people around, try to play the morality and security card when it comes to online poker. It's pathetic.

Two of the Republicans that could run for his seat are John Shadegg and Jeff Flake.

Let's hope Shadegg isn't elected. He is a staunch advocate of a federal prohibition of online poker. In 2006, he cosponsored H.R. 4411, the Goodlatte-Leach Internet gambling Prohibition Act[17] and H.R. 4777, the Internet Gambling Prohibition Act.

Flake is rated B by the PPA. He did write a letter in support of online poker.

Kyl leaving is a great thing for poker. But, we have to hope that someone "better for poker" comes into power. And frankly, Arizona isn't exactly known as the land of tolerance and freedom right now. I think it's probably taken over as the state most associated with racism, intolerance and ultra-Christian conservatism.

So : Chances are a Kyl-like person will just take his place. GG.
