I play online at bovada mostly cash games, four tables at a time. I am considering increasing to eight or more tables. To do this I will need to open another account on another site, cause bovada only allows four tables at a time, and get a second monitor so I can watch all the action.

I am turning to the online community for some advice. What monitor should I get size and resolution concerns? which website(s) should I play at? any software concerns like stack and tile?

I currently play on my dell laptop 16" monitor.

Have you considered getting a larger monitor? It would also increase your other computer related experiences.

I use 2 LED 32 inch TV's. The computer your using makes a huge difference to. My computer supports HDMI out put and VGA. Not sure about all the technical stuff though. If you have the right equipment, its not hard to set up, almost does it for you.

As far as the multiple accounts go, you absolutely need to stay away from that. They really crack down on stuff like that and you put your money in jeopardy.

Good luck!

thank you for your responses. what I meant with the multiple accounts is that I would play at bovada but I would also have a second or even a third account at Carbon or lock etc. I thought this was normal for online players who multitable.

Out of curiosity Aces. How many tables do you play? and is that all at on site?

I completely understood what you meant in your original post (joining other sites & playing them at the same time)
One thing stands out.. 'lock'?!?!??! Don't even write that name down. Huge scam site!

As far as adding another monitor to your laptop >>

For the longest time I've used a 17" Acer laptop (not a very good one.. ie. 4GB Ram, Pentium T4200 CPU) hooked up to another monitor (a 23" Acer S231H, which I picked up for $129 at Walmart).
I can comfortably play 6-tables on the 23" monitor + 2 more tables on the laptop.. but I have played as many as 18 tables in the past (12 on monitor, 6 on laptop).

I actually have another setup now but find myself using the laptop + monitor quite often. (have a desktop computer with 2x 24" monitors).

If I were in your shoes, I would look to buy a 24" monitor. If poker is the main use for it, you won't need anything special. (1920 x 1080 resolution will be fine)

Sorry duggs I didn't see your question. But Ive been getting amazon gift cards from work as an incentive. I currently have $90. But can get more later. I saw some refurbished monitors for $30 - 60. will these be sufficient or should I b cautious? also as far as LCD vs LED etc. which would be more suitable for my needs?

Thanks orifice for your help I think will look into a 24 inch with the resolution you suggested. any idea which sites I should consider playing?please keep in mind that I am an American player.

i have 27'' and sometimes i need bigger one :)) you can try a plasma or videoprojector into a wall :) just kidding. but anyway if you buy the second one you can merge the monitors and i guess is enough space for doing what u need.

I have a 23 and a 19, both work fine.
I run them thru 2 dif pc's tho, so I could play 2 skins of the same software at the same time....not much call for that anymore because so few good games out there.

When us Americans used to be able to play on sites like poker stars and Full Tilt and I was really heavy in to online poker used to play up to 24 tables at once. Now in my old age 1 is good enough for me. I like to chill and watch movies and sports and hang with the wife while I play so more then one or two and I find I miss the plays I should be making. I like MTT's so patients and time is my virtue.

You can do up to 8 tables cascaded comfortably on a 20". mtt'ing more than 1 site on a single monitor is a pain, but can be done. They have some nice 20" at walmart for 79,00. I use 2- 23" ported to a wireless gameing pc and that works very nice for anyone averageing 5+ hours a day.
