So like many others, I have experienced downswings, bad beats, donkeyshoves with 46os????!!!
I've read many threads on how to deal with tilt, withstand downswings, etc.

I actually have a stranger poker problem. I seem to play worse during an winning session or upswing. It usually begins the same way:

I'll raise with suited connectors in middle position, like I often do, and all my pet rocks fold. Then that one crazy player who always calls me preflop no matter what calls. flop comes down [bla] [bla] [bla] he checks-I bet-he folds-drag pot-next hand-thank you.

Invariably, he gets tired of it, and plays back at me. Here is where I go pokerbananas. I assume he's pulling some well thought out bluff, and I re-pop him. he calls, and we go to the turn and river. he bets the river and I fold. I just know he's dancing in his underwear, hugging the dog, screaming, "I bluffed him! I bluffed him!"

At that point, I go downhill fast. my impressive stack, built by good value bets and well-timed bluffs, is now sitting in front of some donkey. My image is shattered, my gameplan ruined. I often take a break here and either wash dishes or watch the wsop dvds.

I want to be able to play my game, and not go on "omg-he-called-my-bluff" tilt. Any sugestions would be welcome.

as an afterthought, I notice that many people on here say there is no bluffing at 2nl. I beg to differ. the old " i missed my flush no let me pretend i had a set" bluff happens all the time. same with straight draws and even pair draws. (AK,AQ,AJ,etc.)
Am I supposed to just bet for value, and let hands go the moment I encounter resistance? (please keep in mind I can use no HUD as I play on BetOnline only right now)

sorry if this thread covers to many topics, but I'm only allowed 2 a day, and I have serious thread bankroll management lol.

You assume this player is playing back and is sick of your cbet's and the folding lark.

What you have to remember is that he's folded numerous times before, I often find these players the best ones to be up against. You know when you're ahead and if they play back, 9times out of 10 they are beating you. For you to re-pop (thinking he's playing back) with absolutely nothing is crazy. Why not let go as soon as you are played back at? All your previous work in c-betting and them folding in is gone when you lose a chunk by calling a re-raise on the turn and folding the river and he now has his lost chips + some more of yours.

Again you just assume he's playing back, you just have to remember there HAS to be a time he has something all those times he calls a pre-flop bet then folds, now just because he's playing back means you feel you're being bluffed?

As for the afterthought, I disagree with people on here thinking no-one bluffs at 2nl...I think most do bluff a hell of a lot, usually all their chips go in the middle quite often from my experience.

If you go pokerbananas when he plays back, you are playing into his or her hands, as Ram states above, there is no reason to assume he is bluffing, it is more likely he has a good hand.

Imagination is a tricky thing -- don't let it rule yr game...

I don't understand how this is a bad beat, it more just a down hill in chip. It the same game you losing. Try losing 10 straight games with nothing but premier hands like pocket faces, AK, AQ, but I always have a better hand than my opponents just to end up losing. Now thats bad beat. It only the second time this happen to me, so I'm not worry. Only lost $80 of my profit I won in the past few days. Still tough to take in but got to deal with it right. I play at Carbon and I can say this never happen to me before black Friday. Since than I been taking huge loses because of more fishes playing more idiotic Hands and better player taking chances on moving all in with their outs. Also running good means running good. The way you explain it is more like your opponent is out playing you. And decreasing your chips by being a better player, so this have nothing involve with bad beat.

Thanks for all the replies guys. yeah, i know that he has to hit the flop sometimes, and that I should just let it go, but...
Nope no buts. only butt I care about is my own being lost at the poker table. (well that and Jessica Biel's butt. I care about her's too:))
That being said, I dona just want to drop every time I'm played back at, do I? I know that if I play super-tight (which I almost never do) I get no action on my hands, except for the occasional all-in.
I do know I need to 3-bet more, its definitely a leak.
Well, anyway, gonna grind some more this evening.
Wish me better reads!
