poker it is called a bad beat jackpot. In many cardrooms and sites if you have a 4 of a kind or better beaten the losing hand gets anywhere from 50 t0 75% of the jack pot winning hand gets 25% to 10% the rest of the players at the table and/or tables in the room split the remaining %. So in poker it is the only time you want second best hand..............Rock

I was actually at a table where the Bad Beat jackpot was won about 6 months ago. It wasnt the huge jackpot the offer now, but it was $500. The loser (of the hand) got $250, the winner got $125, an everyone else seated at the table split the other $125. I got about $18 just for sitting at the table and folding pre-flop! (and it was only a .05/.10 table).

The big jackpot now is only for certain .50/1.00 tables on RV, so its much harder to win.

I had no idea that you even played poker.:)

Does anyone know what the odds are of losing with quad 8s or better? I would think that you would have a better chance at living to be 200.;)
