I was playing at a royal flush jackpot Omaha table tonight when I flopped a royal flush. I had limped and it was just me and the big blind in the pot. I checked, and he instachecked back. It was clear he wanted no part of sticking around with that board. I was honestly a little stunned to have the royal and wasn't sure what to do, so I also checked the turn in order not to drive him out. He instachecked again. Realizing there was not enough money in the pot to qualify for the jackpot, I put out a bet on the river. He folded. No jackpot.
It's my understanding that it's not allowable to discuss such a hand in progress and let other players know what you have -- kind of like collusion. People have been disqualified from jackpots for talking about their hands in B&M casinos. So I said nothing. But now I'm wondering if that was just dumb. Would it have been wrong to say something like "please call" in chat when it's obvious there's three to a royal on the board?
The payout would have been about $1K so it's bugging me. Was I right or wrong to keep quiet?
