Rounders 2 - Confirmed... What Would You Like To See?

So apparently Miramax confirmed that a sequel to the poker movie we all love is in development:

http://www.pokernewsdaily.com/miramax-confirms-plans-for-rounders-2-17292/

I'm curious as to what you all would like to see happen in the sequel? Which poker celebs would you like to see make an appearance, and in what capacity?

One natural progression would be to follow Mike (Matt Damon) to Vegas to take his shot at the wsop ME, but that kind of has already been done with Lucky You. It's a bit odd because seeing Damon playing the actual WSOP ME is a pretty common image we have now... so it'd be a little Deja Vu to see him doing the same on the screen as Mikey.

It'd be great to see some of the young pros like Dwan and Obrestad get some screen time, as well as some of the old favorites like Farha, Texas Dolly, and Harman.

Thats great there coming out with Rounders 2, I loved the first one. Since it said that Matt Damon and Edward Norton is more than likely coming back as there same characters there is not much of a chance of this happening but I would love to see Mark Wahlberg in the movie.

I think the story will definitely have something to do with Mike going to take his shot at Vegas in the WSOP. Maybe him and Teddy KGB both make the final table or something.

It would be nice to see Mike(Matt Damon) and Johnny Chan HU on the final table.
After all, Chan is mikes favorite player.

I think all the pros would be clamouring to be in this movie based on it's appeal

I hope it turns out good. I have a feeling it can go either way. It could be another really great movie, or it could be another horrible sequel that shouldn't have been attempted.

Can't wait to see it, I hope it's worth it. I don't wanna see bad acting though, especially when there are high expectations.

I think they'll do a pretty good job with it, given the legacy and following the first film has. I don't think it'll tank completely, at worst maybe something like an enjoyable but not amazing 7/10. The stakes are high, so I think Miramax is going to do everything in their power to make sure it succeeds.

It has also been a long time in the making, and they didn't want to commit to a new film unless a good script came along, which it apparently did.

If Obrestad has more than a token appearance I'll shoot myself.

Rounders 2?

Every poker player has been waiting for Rounders 2 since they finished watching Rounders..

Many people started playing poker after watching Rounders, I know I did. Matt Damon called it "A cult movie" due to the high number of people that started playing poker after watching the movie.

I heard rumors that they were "thinking" about making rounders 2. Matt and Edward Norton both wanting too

I also heard rumors of Rounders 2 making its way in 2014
http://www.cardplayer.com/poker-new...tions-rounders-sequel-at-producers-conference

With rumors that Leonardo dicaprio would star in Rounders 2 such rumors dating as far back as 2009...

Will these forever be rumors or will every poker players wet dream come true with Rounders 2?

I think I speak for 99.9% of the poker world when I say Hurry it the hell up and make the movie!!! ..... Please!!!!

I was also anxious for Poker Junkies. That project seems to be dead in the water before it ever got started.. It really sucks because it's not from a lack of desire to make it. Plus I think Mars Callahan would have done an excellent job on it. If you saw Poolhall junkies, then you know what I mean. I think he did as good a job as you can making that kind of movie. It's hard to accurately portray the many facets of that world in an hour and a half, but I think Mars Callahan and Chris Corso did a good job, both being intimately familiar with the pool hustler lifestyle. The way I heard it, Mars Callahan had begun to immerse himself deeply in the world of poker in preparation for making this Poker Junkies, and I expected him to do as good a job with it as he did with Poolhall Junkies.

I'd love to see a Rounders 2 but I agree that it probably would be sub par to the original.

One of the biggest reasons Rounders2 hasn't been made yet is because Rounders did bad in theatres, however excelled in DVD Sales and they are worried that this will happen again especially since online piracy is at an all new high..

However I think that its completely different and I hope the writers and producers see this..

Reasons its different:

Rounders 1 was amazing and everyone wants to watch rounders 2
Poker has boomed since Rounders and has been boosted by Rounders it self, online poker and the Moneymaker effect
Matt Damon and Edward Norton are much bigger names then they were during the original Rounders
If they got Leonardo he is also a big name
Poker is now bigger around the world and not just the US
and last but not least... I really wanna see it
