Poker has to be the hardest game played on your emotions. One minute you are extremly excited to be holding pocket kk and someone moves allin on you. Your adrenaline starts pumping through your veins at an enormous rate. You are trying to figure out wether or not your opponent has aa or not. Your entire tournament is on the line. You figure your opponent has ak at best so you push allin. Your opponent turns over pocket sixes. You let out a big sigh of relief. The flop comes up 2 8 q all different suits. Now you are gleeming with confidence. The turn comes and its a 10 of clubs. This should definately put you in the money. Then the six of diamonds falls on the river. You can't believe it. You feel like you are going to be sick to your stomach. You are so so mad upset disappointed all rapped up into one. You pace around the room for a good ten minutes or so. Then once you have calmed down you enter another tournament to ride the rollercaoster one more time. LOL :)

Ahhh, but one of the secrets to becoming a good poker player is that you are emotionally detached from your chips and the moniez. If you can't do that then you are prone to "tilt" and all that goes with it. Just play the hands and make good decisions and everything else will take care of itself! The hand you are describing was well played by you just unlucky. Unlucky happens.

Yeah I guess thats the feeling.

But tbh, i get more tilted from getting my money in bad.

Example would be, running KK into AA, at no point am I in the lead and it sucks because you know theres a very good chance I will lose my money.

Now if im getting it in good like you described, KK vs 66, i find it hurts less because I know I did everything in my power to succeed and its completely out of my hands. I got my money in good as a massive favorite, and the gods favored another.

Actually this is just a story that I thought would dictate the every day emotions that a card player deals with. This was not an actual event, but an event that played on the emotions. Although I do have to say I like both of yalls point of veiw. And I agree with both of you.

One bad beat doesnt usually get to me, but when im in one of those days that i do everything right and i keep losing, meh does it make me mad. Being on tilt is like a snowball, cause i eventually start playing really bad and losing allot.

All you can hope for is getting your money in when you have the best hand, if you can do that you will be successful.

If you're on a roller coaster in this hand, imagine what the guy with the 6's was on :S
