This is a discussion on Rituals- Do you have any? within the online poker forums, in the General Poker section; Some people have rituals they go through before they play poker. Do you have a ritual pre-tournament, in the middle of a tournament or post-tournament?
Some people have rituals they go through before they play poker. Do you have a ritual pre-tournament, in the middle of a tournament or post-tournament? Maybe, even before you play a cash game?
Pre-Tournament- I use my elliptical to get the blood flowing before the tournament starts! I respond better and my brainwaves work more consistent.
Mid-Tournament- Smoke cigars on breaks
Post-Tournament-Beer time! I like to reflect on how I played and drink a brew.

If you are confident in your ability to make good plays and decisions, you don't need any rituals. Maybe for good luck... but personally I don't have any rituals, whether it would be pre-game, during the game, or post-game.

I like to get myself pumped up before games by visualizing myself winning the tournament... i get a intense focused look on my face, grabbing some chalk , and flying it in the air like lebron james before he plays his games.. after im done with that, i sit down and dominate.

re: Poker & Rituals- Do you have any?
Whenever I'm driving to a casino to play a cash game or a tournament, I get really nervous before I get there.
So, to calm my nerves on my 45 min drive, I sing out-loud, on the top of my lungs to music like Coheed and Cambria or whatever pumps me up. And when I get there, I'm ready to rock.
