These days I just try to not play in a bad mood and stick to good BRM.
In the past I have done things where I have set out hours to play no matter what. It does teach you to play better no matter what mood. However, it can be emotionally draining to sick to the same routine.

I usually play when I have plenty of time and energy but sometimes I play because I have nothing better to do, it have become a routine. My last good win a few months ago was on the hot 11 (pokerstars) 6th place and that night I was very tired and had a headache too!! I played by routine didn't have energy but you never know when it's your time!!

Before I play poker, I sacrifice a pig, eat it's heart, paint myself in blood and I play naked, while dancing around the laptop and singing tribal songs.

It bacame both for me in fact, every morning, with my first coffee and a cigarette i always have a quick game of poker, if you consider a first cup of coffee as a ritual, and routine, well yes, i do not involve a much of emotions lately, so i can say it became a routine as well...
