Today was my first day playing ring games at FTP. During the day (2-3.30EST) I was up 70 bucks at .25/.50 tables. I only encountered one bad player who took my money, but I got it back. I tried again in the evening, and lost 40 bucks. I raised preflop on two hands, one Pocket tens, the other AQ in late position, both times I got called with 45os and they had me beat on the board. So is most of the bad play by workers who get off from work and barely know how to play in the evening? I think I'll stick to daytime ring games

Generally the time I like to play is during the late afternoon/evening because of all the bad players that flood the sites when they get home, etc. I find that during the day and very late in the evening, the competition is tougher because the people who are playing are in it for reasons other than simple entertainment.

Yes, there are more fish on the sites during the early evening times, you have to learn to use this to your advantage and tighten up and take their $.

Depends on your time zone :)
Exactly. Just remember in the online world, it's quite possible it is nighttime for someone at any time.

But I've found that at night on Friday and Saturday is probably the worst time to play. People love to knock a few back, jump online, and play stupid. Sometimes you can tell who is drunk, but not always. And that's one drawback to online play.

I have found that you are going to find crazies at any table on any site but majority of the time tables all the way up to $1/2. I do know what you mean about getting beat by crazies though. Same in freeroll tourneys...i just got put out with pocket kings..went all in pre-flop and got called by a 9,7 off suit and they got a straight..lol.

I see the Crazies at just about every Ring game and Freeroll I play. And they always seem to hit on crap hands. I don't see them so much at the Sit N Go tables. I haven't really noticed more Crazies on any particular site though.

Speaking of crazies, last night Phil Ivey came on FTP, playing 2/1 Limits and going ALL IN every hand! He said he was wasted, and it seemed like he was just trying to give money away ( bought in max for 2/1 table) But the sad thing is, a few players saw Phil Ivey at such a low limit table and dumped their bankrolls in order for the oppurtunity to play with him.....and lost their bankrolls to crap hands. I saw 73os beat TT and the guy was shocked that he had lost his entire bankroll and begged Phil for $100, and also saw 24s beat KK when Ivey made a gutshot straight on the river. Going all in on every hand though, he stuck around for a while, 20-30 minutes, only time he had the best hand was with jacks....which he lost lol.
