Hey everyone,
I am a returning poker player who has taken the game off for about 2 years. I play usually starting with a 100 to 200 bankroll. I love the game, but getting busted with aces is not helping the comeback. It is tough to see the value in playing any more, when I constantly feel beat up. Also, I have posted on this site for two years. Can anyone tell me how many posts you need a month to enter in FULLTILT freerolls? Any words of encouragement, bankroll management, and help on this site is much appreciated. Thanks!

Welcome back and good luck! I too just returned from a 2 year layoff back in August. The freeroll registration will take a little bit of time but they will get back to you. I put in my App last week and am still waiting. It says to wait two weeks before following up so I will. As far as poker, play your game and don't get too hung up on the bad beats....they always happen. Be disciplined and keep good BR management ;)

I am just coming back after a long illness. I just didn't feel like playing much poker through ti all but I am back now. What I have noticed especially in the freerolls is the people who call any and everything right off the bat and hope for the best. Most of the time they get lucky and then once they win a couple hands will stat playing tighter. They normally still don't last past first break but they do manage to take out a decent player a lot of times with pure luck.

I have been knocked out of a few with AA or KK when they called either chasing a straight or a flush or just called with crap like 5/3 preflop and luck out. It sucks but it happens a lot.

Thanks guys,
Good luck to you other returners out there. Does anyone out there have any suggestions on what sites to play? What do you guys play, and why do you think that site is better than others?

Goodluck.

I think it depends on what you like to play. If MTT's are your game then I'd definatly suggest PS. I like there Blind Structures, payouts and the number of games you can choose from.

If SnG's or Cash is your game then you have lots of sites to choose from.

I would guess this depends on what your best game is. I'm a SNG player so PS is my choice. For ring games, maybe FT but I'm really not sure. Maybe some ring players can chime in with their thoughts.

Welcome back in the poker (playing) business ! Unfortunately we lose the vast majority of our hands, thats no big deal - a normal occurence in poker. If you have good bankroll management, then you will succeed despite all the bad beats, coolers and cold decks. I promise !

Bankroll management "one of the most underestimated" aspects of the game. How do you guys manage your roll? Any hints or ideas? Also back to my favorite sites. I love all mtt, sngs, and ring games. What are your guy's views for each? I have an account with AP, PS, and FT. Thanks
