I have a blog where I write about my attempt to make $10K playing poker online, starting from zero.

I've been struggling to add money via Full Tilt freerolls. I recently referred a friend, and have received $25 for doing so.

My question is, if I use the money to build my bankroll, is that cheating? I didn't earn the money playing poker. Instead I took advantage of a promotion available to anyone.

What do you guys think?

My personal opinion is of course not you still used ways and means by the poker site to aquire the money for free but i guess you will get a few people saying that this is "cheating" !!

Im sure that when C.F. did his 0 to 10k challenge this would have been considered cheating because his name alone would garner 10K in bonuses. But your not C.F. and I don't think we will think any less of you if you turn 25 into 10K. lol gl

Erm... it's your own personal challenge, you're setting the rules, so surely you're the only one that can decide whether it's cheating or not.

FWIW, I wouldn't say it was "cheating". Do you deduct any money you get from rakeback (if you're signed up for it)? Because that would fall into the same category - money you make from poker that doesn't come directly from pots you won.

if you're trying to duplicate chris jesus fregusons experiment i mean you should go from 0-10000 from just poker.. if you're just doing your own little thing i mean you can go ahead and refer 4 friends and get 100.. no ones going to blame you....
