I've heard many times that if you are serious about winning and improving you game to become a serious player, you should keep a record of your play and of your bankroll
i can understand bankroll book keeping - just recording how much $ you've made/lost every day at what tables/ tourneys etc.
but when you're recording your play, what kind of things do you write in specific?
do you have like a daily entry of what you did right/wrong in paragraph form or
do you chart specific data (percentages etc.) on your game???
I don't have any poker books yet so if anyone with one involving this could pass on a few pointers or anyone who bookeeps themselves could help me out that would be great
Thanks in advance

checkyourbets.com is an online bet checker. I haven't used it because I haven't played for real money yet but I've heard good things and it looks pretty helpful

Too many hands are played online to practically write down what you played and how it went. You need to get a database type program or website. I use poker tracker and once you understand how to interpret the statistics it is VERY helpful in assessing your strengths and weaknesses. Plus it allows you to playback a hand from party poker, useful cause Party doesn't have that feature built into the site! In short get Poker Tracker it is worth it!
