To rebuy or not to rebuy, that is the question.

Do you prefer rebuy or freezeout tournaments

Well first of all not enough options, you forgot to put cake/bastard, how dare you? also your options are just really bad, so I'm not voting sorry.

I picked freezouts because that's what I'm currently rolled for, but when my BR is higher I prefer the re-buy tourney as the payouts are usually to great to pass up.

I hate rubuys... just when the all-in donk at your table gets busted, he's back, and back again... rebuys encourage maniac play, throws the game off IMHO.

I strongly disagree with this statment, after the rebuy/add-on break the all-in fest is over and through out the tournament you M will be allot higher there for benfiting more skiled players.

Bad pool imo but i voted for the rebuy.

Rebuys should come with warning labels in BRIGHT NEON RED! . Stating that your bankroll is in Jeopardy and Alex Trebic will not be there to correct you.

My favorite ice cream sundae is hot chocolate, but occasionally I get a butterscotch one.

A rebuy is my "butterscotch" when I am in a gambling mood. You can play much looser and capitalize on others with the same attitude.

By pushing small edges you can build a huge stack by the end of the rebuy period.

When you're fortunate enough to do this, it affords you a lot of play in the later rounds.

Rebuys require a larger bankroll and a different approach (in the rebuy period).

To profit from Rebuys, you have to have the right attitude. Assume that the cost to you is going to be at least 3 buyins. For example, a $10 +$1 Rebuy is really a $31 MTT. If that worries you, find a cheaper game.

In the Rebuy period, it is highly likely that some (at least) of your opponents will play very loose and very aggressively. If you don`t feel comfortable in that environment, again, don`t enter.

However, as Sindri says, assuming you have the measure of them, a Rebuy offers the opportunity to play deep-stack after the rebuy period ends. This is +EV if you are a strong MTT player.

Just remember that the more rebuys that occur, the more value to the final pot(s) [smile]. Folks may scoff at those who rebuy-back-in ... but in truth they're contributing to the whole.

I'll occasionally play a rebuy tourney but I never rebuy in it.

I may addon at the break if it seems logical but never rebuy. Each time you rebuy you are reentering the tournament just that much farther behind.

I do however love to see people rebuy 10-15 times in a tournament where they are going to have to make final table just to break even.
