If it's worth reading once then it's usually worth reading again at another time or date.

Always have taken Notes and as of late I have decided to simply highlight what is worthy in the pages of the books.
This was not easy to get use to (highlighting in the treasured pages) but it is the only method I would even consider anymore.

It's very easy to re-skim over the highlighted sections as a refresher or as needed .

I tend to fold back the corners of the pages that I find to be the most noteworthy. Most of my poker books I have read multiple times. I do believe that they have helped improve my game.

I always stick to the belief that if you understand something you wont need a note of it.

Something you have to rehearse to remember isn't something you can often apply very effectively. If you put some thought into any lesson you learn (and that means thinking about how that particular concept interacts with everything else you know) and you'll remember it without assistance.

But note taking works for some people, actually probably most people, so I guess the notes for revision must have some merit.

With that being said, anything worth reading I think should be re-read at a later date. Put it aside and read it again in 6 months and if you've gained some knowledge and experiance over that time, you'll be seeing it from another perspective and able to gain more from it.
