During one of our Pub Games a situation happened where we weren't quite sure what to do.
What does anyone think should have been the outcome to this situation?
£1O buy-in,with 3 re-buys + 1 add-on,after 1 1/2 hours.
A player loses a hand at the very end of the blind level, where the add-on period begins.
This player,has already had his 3 re-buys.
Is this player therefore deemed out of the game? as he has no chips left.
Or,is this player still entitled to the add-on?
What do you think?

He is out. If he had one chip going into the next level, then he would be able to add on, but since he lost all of his chips in the level prior to the add-on, it is no different than if it was 2 hands, 5 hands, 20 hands before the add-on. Sucks for him, but that's life.

Ya he is out because he can only add on if he has chips all ready.

Thx for your answers.
As this was a friendly pub game, and we were not sure of the correct ruling,we did allow the player to add-on.
Prior to the next game,we will explain this rule to everyone.
(No this player did not make the money, during this game) :)

Yeah, it's not fair to let him 'add-on' with zero chips just because the add-on period JUST began. It's still a rebuy since he's busted. That's my opinion though, since it's your game they're your rules.

I'm pretty the official rules of an add-on is that you have to have at least one chip to add-on, because you are adding on to your chip stack. If you have zero chips, it is technically a re-buy, and only after you have some chips, can you add-on to them. I think the actual name says it all, however if this was a friendly game of poker I don't see anything too bad with letting the individual re-buy at the last stage if everyone agreed to it.
