I don't have to say anything more or give any examples. You know what I am talking about. You've been there. You know how it feels.

Yes, men DO have hot flashes. Ok, not exactly the same as women. But volcanic face-burning out-of-control emotional states. You betcha we do.
  • You've pounded your desk;
  • viciously sworn at the computer screen;
  • screamed at your cyber-opponent (who you just KNOW is laughing at you);
  • and vowed to get even with the worthless, ignorant test-tube conceived parentless fool who dared put that beat on you.
Congratulations to all of us for having given in to a temper tantrum. We have come a long way since we were three years old demanding a cookie. We are able to scream louder and break more expensive things faster. There are not many people who can do so with such completely reckless abandon for dignity, sanity, and maturity. I, for one, am TOTALLY proud of myself for these accomplishments. (My accolades are few, so I must get mileage out of those I do have.)

Okay. So much for poking fun at myself, and everyone else who has ever done anything like the above. (Uh huh. SURE you haven't!!!)

I played in several sites’ play chip games, mostly low entry sng’s, for over a year for an unusual reason. I wanted to overcome emotionally reacting to idiotic beats. I decided that the only match worth fighting was against that brat part of me, and I had no choice…I had to win it. And I devoted myself to that.

I intentionally put myself in a position where I was taking HORRIBLE beats on a regular basis. First hand all in 9 3 offsuit cracking my AA. Consistently getting three outed on the river by a donk who first position raised 6x BB with 8 2 suited. That kind of stuff.

In this context, the ONLY worthwhile match for me to fight and conquer is my emotional response to an ignoble beat. I trained myself to not react at all, or mostly get over it—fast. If, for some reason, I can’t—I leave the game. I sit out for a few minutes, or I end that session.

So my unasked for advice to you, my fellow anger junkies, is this: Go get donked, and often, and by a jerk who knows how. Hopefully you become desensitiezed by repeated exposure to this foul stench.

Stay tuned in for more alleged wit and wisdom.

bad beats are a big part of the game. if u have a 80% chance of winning the hand then you'll win it 4000 out of 5000, or however many times u have that situation. if there weren't bad beats online poker would be rigged. poker isn't for everyone. if you can't handle it, don't play the game.

You wouldn't take bad beats if it weren't rigged.

what are you talking about paw_kit? if u have a 80% chance of winning you'll lose 1 out of 5. that's supposed to happen. AA isn't supposed to win 100% of the time, if it did then online poker would be rigged. bad beats are part of the game, and it's making me sick how i have to hear players whining on how their aces got cracked.
