How much impact have a rakeback deal for a tournament player?
I know for cash, rakeback is realy important but what about for a tourney player.
Yes I already know a rakeback deal is important for a poker account, so no need for this kind of posts.
I hope you understand what I meant to ask

It depends on
A) the volume of games you play. i.e. do you multitable and grind long hours in some of the shorter games with lowish fields, meaning you fit more in. Or do you play mainly the deep stacked big field games like the super sunday's?
B) The stakes you play. If you are buying in to the bigger games, your obv gonna make more rake. Rakeback is usually around 25% of the tourney fee you pay ($200+$16... your raking back around $4).

Rake is pretty much essential for any online player serious about making money though, whether you play cash or tourneys.

Unless you are playing high stakes tournaments I wouldn't even be concerned with rakeback.

Why? Is it less significant for tourney players than for cash?

Well at low buy-ins you can't play enough tournaments for it to make much of a difference to you. I guess pennies are okay lol.

Isn't rakeback going to be pennies if you play cash games at micro as well? Or is it a different % of the buyin/rake for tournaments?

There shouldn't be any difference. What I am trying to say is that you simply can't play enough tournaments for it to matter much. At least for me anyway.

Probably a lot less relevant for MTT players than for cash players. Extremely relevant for STT grinders for which rakeback is often the largest part of their winnings. Aguably, rakeback is more important for STT than for NL cash. And in cash games, rakeback is less and less important the deeper you play (crucial for shortstackers, not so much for deep table regs)

Essentially, the games where you can put in a ton of volume are also games where you have small edges, so rakeback is more important. The games where you can have a massive edge won't allow you to put in a lot of volume, so rakeback matters less.

If you play a lot of SNG tournaments, it can really add to your ROI. At the highest level SNGs the good players are a little better than break even. A 5-10% ROI at $500+ is very good. with rake back you good add a few more % points.
