Hello,

I don't know what's happening. Everything was going well. And then all in the sudden I started losing, losing, losing, losinggggg some more.

I can't even reach the money anymore, when just a couple days ago I was close to final table many times.

I still play good I think, but something changed. Seems that I am more unlucky than before. My money is going down and it has no end. I am not sure what to do anymore.

Go check my sharkscope: lajeandom (pokerstars)

You will see it's just wtf....so many times I was so close to FT....and now I am just going down and it's just playing my mind. I got so many bad luck spots. When I dont go all in and fold I would have won, when I go all in I lose. No matter what I have.

When I have a good flop, everybody folds, even if i play soft or check.

There is no light, I want to become pro but this is just...I think I am going through a phase.

Did it ever happened to you, what do you do to overcome it?

Hey I am glad I am not the only one. Are you on Pokerstars as well? Maybe that's their technique you know...they make you win a little bit and then lose lose lose.

I don't know if it's just bad luck or if it's software related. I will keep going, see if I can turn this disaster around. I am tweaking certain things to see if it's gonna change anything.

Try taking a break and get back to the tables when You have more confidence again...
Downswings happen but the worst You can do is to make their effects more dramatic by
playing when You can't play your best game...

Guess there isn't much You can do about it. Analyse your game. Are You really still playing
as good as some weeks ago or did You make slight changes because of feeling to strong after
an upswing? As long as You still get your chips in in favorable situations there is nothing You
can do about your opponents getting lucky....

Also ask yourself if You have become to readable for your opponents... Sometimes You run well
but after a while opponents with HUDs have enough stats to break your game if You keep playing
the same hands the same way all the time...

If it's just bad luck then taking a break is the best solution, so the downswing doesn't destroy your confidence in your game completely....

I just stopped playing online too after I lost about any hand that was an 80% favorite in the last few weeks.... Stick to a homegame with my friends now and will read a good poker book... Then at some
point I will probably be back playing online when I can launch PS again without thinking "Damn I am probably gonna get lucked out by a bunch of crap hands again today!"

Well, Pokerstars is the hardest room to play. I don't know what to blame: software, rng, bots, other players or just myself. I think truth is somewhere in the middle :)

Same here.
Maybe just a combination of bad luck and stronger opponents.
I wouldn't be surprised that HUD's are part of the problem.

Remember - it is a long-term project, not a single game/tourney. We all have winning and losing streaks and trust me, both come to an end. Be patient, review your strategy, but do not tilt.

Good luck getting back into winning ways.

Yea I'm on PokerStars too and I also think it is software related or some type of technique. Might just be a downswing but I doubt it. :/

Not just the two of you, but really most of the people that have replied to this, need to look up the definition of the word "Variance". The best poker player in the world(which I'm sorry, you guys, and myself, are FAAAAAAAAR from) are going to have huge, long losing streaks. Statistics have ALWAYS shown that even given your capabilities, you're not always going to win, cash, place, etc. If that was the case, every player in the HoF would have way more accolades than they do.

By the way, it's not differently in cash games. Great cash game players can have a down streak where maybe they lose half of their bankroll on a terrible whim. Not because of their play, not because of playing much better villains, not because the software is out to get them(LOLOLOLOLOLOlololOLOLOLOL), but because it's variance. Over smaller subsets of hands than online, you will see the EXACT same thing with live play.

idk its badluck or downsing or etc that give us the reason to stop playing. everyone have different action to respon that situation. some player stop play for a while to safe theyr bankroll and some player keep playing and lose some money. in my opinion as a beginner we learn almost everything at the table.when the downswing happen maybe the variance just give us a lesson to take our skill to another level if we can realize and understand about what happen. bad luck and downswing have a positif impact for the player too.lets take advantage from that( downswing) for our skills.as a beginner like me i suggest first to forget the money lose. in that period if u keep playing u can use that to train to handle ur tilt issue also your ego and mindset at the table. i will say downsing period is like our school final exam..!! if we can handle that and keep our mind straight then i believe we can be a good player in the future... yes we lose some money but its worth it for beginner like me..

Go check my sharkscope: lajeandom (pokerstars)

I checked it and it seems like losing money is normal situation for you (no offence), at least for now. You've played 1086 games on PS and you've been losing for almost 1k games straight (with notable exception for one big win in Bounty Builder $16.50) for a year. So subsequent winning streak with a number of cashes within 2 months may have been just a good luck and then everything went back to "normal". That being said, the logical conclusion would be to say that right now you are a losing player; thus you need to improve your game and perhaps play at lower stakes.

Вы не можете улучшить свою игру на фрироллах. Противники ничего не теряют (бесплатный вход) и играют разными руками. Они очень часто получают карточку (((

IF YOU DON'T HAVE THE NUTS fold on pokerstars so many hits, big hands same in 888 you push hard or trap only to become the trapped by the river.

4 card flush draws and the guy has 73s but still backs his cards wtf. winning is hard for a long period.

Lotssss of variance in poker.

Focus on what you can control and results can follow. (Bankroll, Game selection, Study, Mindset, Volume)

I didn't say it was pure luck. But the numbers don't lie and they show that your latest "downswing" is more consistent with your overall results (i.e. negative ROI). So instead of blaming everything on bad luck you should seriously evaluate your stats and put time and effort into improving your game.
