online poker IMO is poker but you are not PLAYING poker. You are just calculating numbers and getting small reads off pixels.

I play online poker everyday for about 3-4 hours cash game.
I play live poker tourney and cash every weekend. (Mainly cash)

I see the difference between a online Player and a live player. I am a lot better at live poker. I get good reads and I can control the pot and aggression more and gain more information live.
I quit online poker because it has too many cons vs live.
Also the feeling of actually playing live is so much more than sitting in a cash game online.

Also online is a software... It is a system designed to portray poker in a illusion of pixels.

Live poker is REAL poker. You see the deck being shuffled and everything is real and legit. Everything is shown infront of you. Instead online you have to trust the developers to have a unflawed system that portrays poker.

Also the wide variety of not knowing anything about anyone apart from a display picture is pretty useless to me.
Chat at the table and watching someone's emotion lets me strive at the table. Instead I'm left to guess online.

That's my opinion and I'm quitting online and playing live only for the true poker.

I don't disagree a bit. I don't really trust online poker but I play freerolls and occasionally make the money. Then I play sit and go tourneys.

If poker stars ever came back to the USA them I would be a player again. Until then I am just a freeroller and a live player.

the difference is more between off and on line poker, but if there is no possibility of play offs we have to replace it with pixels

Only good thing about online poker is that you can learn to play while risking less money and play more hands per hour.

Live Poker requires a bigger bankroll and has a lot more associated expenses. Good luck I wish you all the success in the world :)

Lol lol lol so much things .. At first , online poker , you say you can't trust? Well let's see a site like pokerstars , your money there are 100% sure , they are more sure than a bank in switzerland, that's why there is little percentage of people who keep their money in online poker rooms. Something other i agree the live poker is real BUT do you know that the only Software as you called it when you play randomize the cards 75% more than live poker? So think about it in future , you can always play both :)

Quit real money poker if you consistently lose money at it , any money but consistently and only if you think you cannot work to change that or feel motivated to achieve it eventually. Your time is worth a lot more and you must find something better to use it! Just if you want to change that then you must take steps to self evaluate your progress and faithfully come to the conclusion that you are getting better so that eventually you stop losing. Also quit it if it has started to take space from other activities that are more important such as your job, your key life interests, your family of course and especially kids if you have any.

I think online and live games may fill two differents demands: sometimes you just want to play for fun in the weekends and you don't want to drive miles to find a club, play with annoying people that have been seating there the whole day and stuff, so, in this case, I think playing online poker with friends (or live) can be quite more fun. But if you just want to play for cash, no fun involved, maybe you should find a middle way because there are not so many tournaments happening every day in your city unless you live in Vegas hehehe

Have to agree with you, you just told the truth, the online poker are just numbers and calculations, the thrill of playing a live is better.

I'm with you. I stopped playing poker online years ago. I do have to say that it is more difficult to play live. One of the reasons I enjoy playing live is the challenge. There is so much more to pay attention to. I have to laugh sometimes when some players play on their phone instead of paying attention to the game, even if they are not in the head. They could be getting valuable information by observing how the players bet, react, and the kind of hands they live to call with.

Love both, but prefer online because of convenience and the 'play in my underwear' factor.

I agree with you, has very good arguments , especially with real poker,
It is incredible that so often occurs certain hands
beyond the volume of hands it is much higher

It's true what you are saying, it's complicated to play way, specially when there's no money requirement to entry. too many people just dont really know how to play & it ends on having a really bad tourny.

I'm pretty much the same as this gentleman.

Online isn't for everyone I think it gives a lot of good practice and can even be harder as u can't see a person or get a read at all, but thats just an opinion, I'm sure everyone has wildly differing opinions on which one is harder. Ci do trust live poker more then online. But I've seen bad beats in person too

I agree with you . Playing online poker you do not see the human emotions. and playing live you can feel and read a person. But in online poker and in live there are players who play as a fish . He played about 5 years in online and twice a week in live poker, and live more wins than online

I agree that live poker is better and brighter than online, but not everyone has the opportunity to play live, or play as often as online.
