I'm wondering how you manage to play poker and raise a baby...?

Stefan (Graf Karow) usually plays in the late evenings when I'm asleep - he seems to not need as much sleep as I do :(.

Since 9 weeks I haven't played a single hand .

It's not that Stefan doesn't let me (we've got 2 computers) but I feel too exhausted and can't concentrate...:s:.

Any solutions?

If you're too tired then I wouldn't try to force yourself to play because that isn't going to result in good playing. I would probably try to play either in the morning when you've just woken up and you're fairly rested or throughout the day when the little one is down for naps. Playing later in the day when the majority of others do and probably when you used to as well, just isn't going to be the best for you it sounds like.

Maybe Elias needs his own computer and FT account.

Thats nice Graf.
The only reason I have not responded is because I really don't have any advice. My life stopped when my son was born probably till he was about 6.
I had seen no adult movies, read no books, lol
I was a single parent though and worked full time so a little different.

:D

I think he will get that as soon as he can move the mouse and click.

That should be in about two weeks.:D

I have three kids and find it can be difficult to really play as I would like when they're home. But, they are my first responsibility!

if you're tired and worn out when you play it will result in bad decisions so my advice would be to wait a year or two, and get back at it when you've finally had a good night sleep! lol

This may work?

Example:
Pick a night like Saturday night where he takes care of the baby so you can sleep, and he gets up with the baby in the morning. Then when you wake nice and fresh you have a few poker sessions and take over baby duty.

I can't let a whole week slip

We do realize that our baby is # 1 - therefore I already am suffering deep cuts in my schedule .

Thank you - sounds reasonable :D.

Seriously - we're planning the next one for then .

Example:
Pick a night like Saturday night where he takes care of the baby so you can sleep, and he gets up with the baby in the morning. Then when you wake nice and fresh you have a few poker sessions and take over baby duty.

We're doing something like that already ... Bia goes to bed and I play the early night session.

- Elias is fine watching me playing (though that might be -EV for his later game :p).

The point is that I seem to need much less sleep I guess (or don't mind playing tired :p).

I think it's great that you're putting your child first and foremost over your own desires, but it is good to have a night to yourselves once in awhile. Why not let the grandparents watch the baby, to allow you and your husband a night of poker to yourselves? There's nothing wrong with that, and the grandparents will love you for it!

This is a good alternative. Teamwork! Let mamma sleep in and get her rest, and then let her have the day for herself to do as she pleases. Babies are demanding, so it's next to impossible to get any down time for yourself without some help.

The "Invasions" we'd have have been held up on multiple occasions because that pesky SavagePenguin guy had to put his kid to bed.

I'm a single father and I don't like to play when my 7 year old daughter is with me. Occasionally I'll break the rule for team games or other special occasions, but I certainly don't grind or anything like that with the kid around.

I play mostly at night. During Rush Week just about all of my games were after midnight.

I can help here. I am not sure the age of the baby and this will play a big factor into the times you can play. I have 3 children. there are 6,3,1. My husband has been playing professionally for 1 and a half and i am just starting to play.
If mom is tired a lot when it is later in the day. I am taking it that the baby is under 6 months or around? If this is the case it will get easier. I know I will 2 table during the day while my husband plays until the kids go to bed then I will play more. Once the baby gets on a schedule of sleeping I think everything will work it out itself.
