You mean "The Theory of Poker"? Overall, a great book. Some consider it the "bible" of poker. But here's some things I learned about the book the hard way:
- It uses a lot of Stud and Draw poker in examples. I'd say hold'em is mentioned only half the time or so.
- It reads very much like a college textbook. Harsh text that is tiring on the eyes. Scientific tone to its teachings make it sometimes necessary to re-read portions immediately.
I actually got more out of Sklansky's "Small Stakes Hold'em". It mostly deals with Fixed Limit hold'em, but the concepts on figuring
odds, etc. still apply to NLHE. An easier read, IMO.
Just my opinion and others may disagree with it.
