Hi all,

I’m currently moving parts of my BR between poker sites via neteller. I’m registered with multiple poker sites such as:

pokerstars
Titan Poker
pacific poker
party poker.

I’m about to make my first withdrawal and am facing a dilemma.

Neteller want to charge me a $25 USD withdrawal fee + 2.75% currency conversion fee.

Does anyone have any recommendations so I can get my money without paying out so much in fees? I do understand I’ll have to pay something, I just want to minimise it as much as I can.

If I was to get the money from a poker site I’d probably choose poker stars purely based on their customer service and reputation.

Are there any players in Australia that have made withdrawals and if so what would be your recommendation. Where would you withdrawal from? What method is best? Etc

Anyone else if you have good advice on this matter I’m still interested to hear from you aswell if the recommendations would be relevant to my situation.

FWIW – the first amount is around $1000USD, if that makes any difference to peoples recommendations.

Thanks in advance
Custo

my mate just returned from brisbane where he lived and played for a couple years.
He swears by the PS cheques through the mail.

Hope this helps

Any chance you can find out from him if he withdrew in USD and had the bank convert it for him? Or is PS converted the money for him and charged him something?
Appreciate you reading and commenting
thank you

I was going to suggest a cheque also.
I dont know if they will convert it for you, the best thing to do is contact their support and ask them.

If you do withdraw, first check what the currency rates are, they can be a B**ch sometimes.

99% sure they'll just issue it in USD, and you'll need to get it converted when you go to deposit the cheque.

To be able to compare it to the Neteller rates, you'll need to talk to your bank. I haven't deposited a poker site cheque, but I have been paid in USD by cheque recently for work and the process / fees vary from bank to bank. I'm with CBA, they charged me a flat $10 conversion fee and the funds were available immediately (faster than an Australian cheque, for some reason). But I've been told other banks charge a percentage of the total as their fee and you may have to wait months to get your funds while they physically mail the cheque back to the issuing bank for verification.
