If my roi on on MTT is 103% over 67 games, SNG is 13% over 244 games and HU its 35% over 40 games

... does this imply that i should just stop doing as many SNG and focus on tournaments and HU?

um if you are calculating your ROI from sharkscope i'd be very careful. I'm 99% sure that the sharkscope ROI is absolute garbage. For example, i know a guy who has 1 1/2 times the amount of games as me, the same average stakes but only 1/3 the profit i have. His ROI however is higher. I have even seen losing players with a positive ROI so try to figure that out :S I think sharkscope has my ROI at 29%, but i have a 1.7$ average profit on a 4$ average stake so that would be somewhere from 38-48%. The guy i know has about 70$ profit on 200 games @ 4$ average and has a ROI of 40 something :S.

However, as to your question, it really depends. Did you get a lucky cash in an MTT? You have very small sample sizes so an odd run is likely to skew your actual rate. All those numbers are perfectly fine but just keep playing and figure out what is working. You might want to try different SnGs...45 is obviously different from STT and 6 max turbos are alot different from 9 player non-turbos. So just experiment and see what works.

Way too small of a sample size to tell. Get atleast 500 games at each before you decide.

the number of games you discuss are not enough to make a true quantitative analysis, you would need at least 10,000 hands. What you describe is a blip in statistical terms, not meaningful numerically at all.

for the MTT i did not win just (for example, i see it all the time when i look people up) one 3,000 $5 game. It has been distributed over many ~80 person tournaments on average with several final table placings.

And for looking people up I don't use sharkscope (5 searches) I use topshark off of prolabs. I use sharkscope for self graphing + tournament selecting in a hurry (if i cant topshark them earlier)

Interesting i'd never heard of top shark before. But just from looking at a few charts it looks pretty accurate and not having a min of 5 searchs a day is nice. It does look like it has a number of SnGs missed however (i have like 40 less than sharkscope shows). But it shows alot more history, makes it very easy to check up on ppl you played etc. Pretty cool.

its my favorite site of all time for poker. i almost feel like giving them a 5 dollar donation (i dont really care for their product)

by the way, the "rating" system for people on SNG and MTT is FLAWLESS - if you see anyone rated 2-4 they SUCK HORRIBLY, and if you see anyone rated KING-ACE they are GOOD. - really helps you to know who you should valu bet.

Wow - never seen that site before, but it looks pretty good. Lots of detail.

And the rating system is obv spot on, seeing as how it's given me a K rating :p

The rating system actually seems really dumb to me. I think it must base it on the amount of early finishes you get as opposed to ROI. While that is justified occasionally perhaps (getting lucky in one MTT doesn't make you a good player) it means that some players who are barely even winning players have "Ace". SnGs aren't all about being consistent, they are about coming first fairly often because that is where the money is. Seems kinda justified for MTTs perhaps, but seems nonsense for SnGs so long they aren't like 5+ tables.
