The only reason I can think of is to abuse the "all-in protection" that some sites offer.
I mentioned one reason, you're approaching the money, in danger of being blinded away. Standard time only gives you a minute or so, you wait until that time's up, then disconnect. Not sure exact time but it feels like forever when you're on the connected end of it. If this is a MTT with payouts to more than final table, forcing another table to go through 1 or 2 more hands can make the blinds hit the small stack at another table thus giving you the money. It's a stall tactic, not sure anyone actually does it though, because it's possible the next hand would double you up as your check-folded hand like AA goes bye-bye
