Question About Bots

Bots are real and exist at most levels of poker games in online poker. You can purchase online a holdem bot program for the game of your choice for $129. You can program your bot to play the style that you like.

Boots are predictable stop whining and learn to adapt.

There are no "bots", but there are plenty of players who cannot accept they are not good enough to win long term. They blame everything but their own lack of skill.

Sadly in my teen years,i once tried `bots`.I was at a party with friends and they were all doing it,so i said what the hay,i`ll give it a try,,,it was a silly decision on my part and i`ve regretted it ever since.But i got help,thank god,,,i joined BA(Bots Anominus)and i`m proud to say `ive been bot-free since for 8 years. Plz get help,it`s out there. :aetsch:

I would only hate bots in free rolls. If someone identified as a bot played vs me for long I would hope I could beat them.

Don't play all-ins with players that you suspend of "botism". They play worse postflop. If you met PS bot, he usually wins 90% of coinflips.

I think that bots in the online games are making by creators of the site, and they can "see" cards of other players.

I've been hearing this talk about Bots since I stared playing in 2005.. Since they're not illegal I just want to know how does one go about getting one and programming it?? I mean can you program it to play close to your style of play? Or does it navigate and make decisions on its own.. Does it play multiple games for you?? What do their stats look like as far as winning to losing?? I'm all ears if anyone has some feedback.. I think I want one!! lol..

This is very interesting. I was not aware that there could be bots at a table. I think I may have encountered one or two now that I think back on it. Thanks for discussing this. I am learning right now and that is a big chunk of info that helps me stay on the lookout. Not sure how I feel on the topic though.

I've got a couple of questions about Bots.. What is a Bot?? Where do they come from? Are they legal? If not then why doesn't everyone use them? How do you identify who's a Bot? Someone fill me in as you can probably tell I'm completely in the dark...

I am also very curious on how you tell if there is a bot at your table. Does anyone have any experiences with bots?

If you use a HUD, you will notice that after 20 hands, the bots have exactly 20-25% VPIP and 15-18% PFR as well as ~50% AF

This is considered optimal percentage to have as a player as it leaves others very disadvantaged at comprehending what a bet means but the bot will take this literally and make quite irrational plays based on HUD stats as well as to keep its own in the ideal range.

In several online games I hear of bots, but not created in your game as users of people who live in the world.
I'd rather not believe that it's possible to use low-level tricks.

I've been reading an article right here in CC on this subject, I was impressed with so much information, I already had that feeling of playing against a bots, strange things happen many times when we play poker, but I also realized that these bots, can be detected, and mere mortals like you and me can see and find this bots
