Are queens the new aces?

I don't know about you guys but I have been playing alot of live and online and have seen QQ win way more than AA. Are queens better than aces now? Has anyone else noticed this phenomenon

Objective vs. Subjective..

Subjective viewpoints(ours) vs. Objective (all viewpoints), there is often a discrepancy. I have seen a tendency of my pocket KK being taken out by 89xxx and 76xxx straights. Subjectively, I am wary of the middle straights. Objectively, I play KK hard, knowing, in long run they win more than they lose.
Haven't noticed QQ having such a hard time, will pay more attention now that subject has been brought up.

Statistically AA is the best hand. QQ is a great hand too. Then what can happen to you at the tables you play depends on chance. Not much else to analyze :laugh:

No, they are as always a lesser pair than Aces.

God, I would ask you to punish me with pocket aces in each hand when the opponent has pocket queens.

Queens suck . Lose so many times , especially with preflop all ins , so many crappy hands to lose from . I have soem remarkable online bad beats with them UTG , really had to reconsider their true value and way to play them (bet/shove/call) accordingly to stack sizes and position .

I think you've played too little so far ....

This, as they say, is an optical illusion! Our brain remembers only those events that impress us - QQ> AA, JJ> KK, and so on. Hence this opinion that ladies often beat aces.

Seems to be more live than online. I see alot of hands.

Yeah, pocket Queens are always behind Aces preflop; that is just the math of the game and it won't ever change. If someone believes that Queens are the new Aces and perform better than my pocket rockets (and I mean really believes, not just says as a joke), then I want them playing at my table! The pocket pair dominated by a higher pocket pair is one of the worst things you can see as a poker player.

QQ is a strong pair but AA still drives away and will remain so.

Nah, AA is much better and will beat QQ most of the time. I do find that people are shoving much light PF and I'm seeing QQ (and lower) vs KK/AA more often

No, for me everything is the same, it happens, but still AA is stronger.

In the same words, you can say "you noticed that KK always falls under A", right?

This is just the case for one place, but if you take General information, everything basically stands still.

I lost with Q Q the whole week last week in the CC freeroll..

nope..probability of winning with A-A hand will always be higher than a Q-Qhand.

QQ will never be AA, in a given han even 22 may win over AA, but that is just variance.

If you want to be sure at Showdown with only pairs, I have AA and you with QQ AA, Who will win?

Queens are Queens and Aces are Aces, new or old, they remain the same. It happens where you see more of one hand than another. In the long run it will equal out with large sample size.

Post in a few years with an update and the findings.

No Queens are knot Aces and what makes u think like that

Queens are queens ,kings are kings and Aces still are aces and big winners

AA is the queen :laugh::laugh::laugh:

It is the variance of poker

The correct play will often have a worse outcome than the wrong play; Good players will often lose to bad players.
I am not saying that QQ is bad, but it is not better than AA

Over the past 2 weeks, I have noticed this trend. A pair of queens wins a pair of aces preflop.
But I do not think that it is on an ongoing basis.
