This is a discussion on Quads on the board within the online poker forums, in the General Poker section; If there is (are? haha double question :D) quads on the board, is it a split pot everytime or whoever has the highest card wins?
not a good time for having pair of kings against A2 because in a K3333 board the set of kings will be useless and the ace high is going to win the hand. however in omaha there is no chance for quads on the board, because even if there are 4 of a kind you can only use 3 community cards making imposible to use all the 4 cards to make a game.
Obviously, the quality of your hand also depends on the rank of the pair and it follows that the best starting hand in Texas Hold'em is a pair of aces. They look beautiful, and every Texas Hold'em player goes to sleep and dreams of finding nothing but aces in the hole.
True story - this was in a free poker game in a bar, so nothing important at state - but the board showed 4 queens and an Ace. Three players were still in the hand. First guy goes all in; second guy calls; third person thinks for a moment, then folds.
