just grossness man. i'm going to make a prediction here in this obscure thread. You, me, bw, and Zach, as most people know are going to play in the ME in 2010. Of course we'll all end up at the final table and there's going to be some dude from ... i dunno ... Micronesia. And he is going to suck out HARD on ... hmm .. lets say ZACH.

And Zach will give the post interview of "HEAO #@$( %$ GEG$@(* T()#T WFE WEF PO@# (@#$)T "

Priceless.

The first hand I'm not sure but what kind of odds was he getting? It was pretty bad though that instead of considering that he was trying to decide as if it was just something you either felt or not. Although his "logic" was kinda right. Although the logic shouldn't be you have to gamble, I think with most tourney payout structures if you have a slightly -ev chip decision you should still take the flip because it's most likely +ev in money.

Actually I'm pretty sure I'd just be speechless if that happened to me.

Here's the situation. I have 34h and the board comes 2h5hKh, other guy stacks AT with the Ah. Turn comes Qh, river comes 6h :).

He had to call 75.6K to win a pot of 215.3K or ~2.8:1 odds.

I like Kido Pham's look on the game. The whole 'willing to die in order live attitude'.

Then he had odds to call. ESPN says 27%, 2.8:1 is 1/3.8 = 26.3% or better he'd need to call. Obviously the problem is sometimes it's a higher draw or a set so he doesn't have odds against his range most likely but he had odds if the hands were face up.

You guys are forgetting that Scotty folded Ah 5h and the other guy had the Qh - there is only 6 hearts left in the deck - his odds were worse than he thought.

But Pham didn't know this. He figured his odds for 9 remaining hearts, not 6.

lol no he figured "I have to gamboool to win, I call". Also if he was really thinking it through he'd realize there are sets/2-pairs in his range that take away odds to call.

ESPN takes into account the fact that QxQh has redraws & that 2 hearts are missing when they compute the odds of winning.

Kido's plays are always sick, I've seen him pull so many bluffs and questionable plays it's ridiculous. But I have heard a number of pro's say that to win a big tourney there is an element of luck involved, if you just wait for the nuts all the time you'll be dead in the water. Thats why I hate all-in moves, cause no matter what you have there's always a chance theres something better...except a royal that is, and everyones not gonna be playing just top cards.

Live play is different especially "deep stacked". You gotta expect some of those plays once in awhile. Maybe not see that J10 Allin as much lol

This is why I rarely play live, if a suckout like that happened against an idiot like him I'd have wrestled him to the ground and security would've had to drag me out of there.

Cmon now everyone...If this happened to any of us , we'd been screaming donk. It was, at best, a donk move to push all in with J-10 after a huge raise. But he hit it so that makes him a pro...
