Hey Guys (women are of curse included in this greeting),

Does anyone have a certain "ritual" that they do to get ready for an online session? It seems that I begin playing and then attempt to take care of other things that I either forgot or I just try to do in between hands. I am a walking contradiction, I don't play more than 4 tables because I feel I am unable to make good decisions if I play more. (Also, my set-up does not allow me to show more tables with HUD clearly) Anyway the point is, there are always spaces of time where there is nothing to do and this is when I get caught doing other things. When I go back and review my hands, I get angry because I think; why did I make this play? Why did I not check raise... etc.

I guess I am wondering if I need more structure getting ready to play

Your preparation for play is essential to how you will do. If there are things that are on your mind, whether it is that last argument you had, or the programme on TV, or that you simply cannot concentrate for whatever reason, then your play will be adversely affected.

Before playing, make sure you have cleared your mind of tasks and issues so that you can focus your whole time on the game you are about to play. If during the game, something crops up, make it wait...unless of course it is a matter of life and death ..... most things will usually wait. Make sure that the time you need is protected. Let family members know you are working and not to disturb you.

Focus, focus and focus is your required approach.

Best wishes

physical charge for 3 minutes! Easily! What blood to circulate well! And after the holiday is also 3 minutes! This should be the time! Every hour charge is needed during the break! No need to go to smoke! It is better to charge!

A good rest, food and some caffeine. A quiet area to keep distractions at a minimum is always nice to have.

I believe you've answered your own question. If you are reviewing your hands and can't understand why you did what you did, then you are playing distracted. Clear your schedule and focus on just poker. As non-poker things come into your mind, write them down and deal with them when you're done playing.

I have no rituals and mascots before the game. I before a long session always eat because hungry to play the worst it can be. the head stops to think about the game.

you are making bad decisions because too often you must fold and when there is opportunity to play, you overvalue your cards.

The solution may be a) play more tables. Order them in a way that you do not see all the tables on your screen, but, still, take more tables so you could more easily fold b) have a thing to do in paralell. Read a book for example or watch a film. The tame will pass by more quickly and you will be able to fold far more easily.

I do not have specific rituals before the tournament.
Sometimes I go for a coffee or a walk to my time until the tournament goes faster.

You need to feel great, and feel you will have fun playing poker. Try not to be anxious because doing things while playing poker is a sign of anxietyy I think. Sorry for my bad english

Thanks to everyone

I just want to thank everyone who took the time to answer. I guess I just wanted to see if others could at least understand what I was trying to say and it appears to be the case. I have already begun to clear my schedule and really just focus on the game'

Good luck to all of you

A Cup of tea and good music is all I need. But sometimes I watch a movie when playing. It really helps in long tournaments

I recommend that you play in a few tables because you can confuse yourself and act the wrong way in some tables

Yes, it is obvious that you have to check the internet connection and find a schedule where you can rest easy in the house so that you do not have surprises when you are playing a de-saving hand
