Personally I play much better online and have better results online than I do playing at a live table. I guess I get distracted too easily by things said or action in the room away from the table. When playing in the comfort of my home I'm relaxed and my mind is more focused and I make better decisions. I know more money is to be made at real tables but over the long haul I don't win as much live as I do online.

I prefer live games to online. I'm very much a tag player and my style is much more effective in a live game where you can establish a rep. When I play online, nobody cares about my tag style; they're too busy multi tabling and playing their style poker. At a live game, you're forced to watch your opponents and I believe it's easier to make a "bad call" when looking at a computer screen vs looking at the person.

Live games all the way, more fun, more personable. and more reading skills involved.

I enjoy live games but casinos are a depressing environment after awhile. I'd go more often but the time commitment is tough too as are the bankroll requirements for the higher games.

I agree with this. Started playing live about 6 weeks ago, love it, want to try to make the commitment to playing more often live. While I can do ok sometimes online, after I started playing live I just felt like I was doing well live and using that to fund the bad beats I get online over and over. I definitely agree that bad calls seem easier to make online than live. Plus live is fun and hasn't been ruined by HUDs and all that stuff. I spent most of my poker playing years playing online but feels like it's mostly grinding micros and getting sucked out on. It's fun but it's def slowing my BR down rather than growing it. Live poker on the other hand has at least funded my continued online play which is ironic considering an online MTT win funded my ability to play live.

I still slightly prefer online for MTTs but then when I go to play an MTT I end up playing Zone or some FR. So I think if I could play live exclusively I'd strongly consider it.

there is a big difference between playing for a live table game and on the Internet. there comes into play the psychology and your powers of observation with the other players and their habits.

I prefer online for the strict purpose of volume and game choice. Live settings also require a larger bankroll than some rec players are willing or able to risk.

For me I love more in real because you can talk to each other and try to learn when its time and poker tells is poker tells.

I prefer playing online poker because my favorite poker game is ZOOM poker. I like fast paced hands, and don't like to sit around waiting for cards to be delt to me.

But on the other hand live poker is where you test and show your skills, because there are a lot of factors like facial expressions and hand gesture that can give your hand away.

online or live poker

used to be online when i turned $40 into $9000 on full tilt. now, when on several sites nobody misses a flush or straight chase on me(in all in situations only btw?!!), live is back. just had 3 straight winning sessions in 2 weeks at the live casino, something that didn't happen online since black friday.

I prefer to play online. There you can freely show their emotions and bluff. I find it difficult to hide their feelings in the game. Then just sit and watch the game opponents are. It is difficult to make decisions when everyone is looking at you.

I enjoy both, but lack of time kinda forced me to pass some live events and do only few online games, but I must say the live games are more funny

Love live poker. I tend to play too loose online and take too many risks that I wouldn't dream of taking in a live tournament.

The anonymity of online poker sometimes allows you to make loose plays/calls that you never would in a live game for fear of being embarrased at the showdown!! :)

I've only played online, but plan on getting into the live scene soon. The closest place to me is a few hours away though. :(

I would much rather play online for the simple fact that casinos usually have minimum buy ins of both tournaments and cash games of around fifty usd compared to a two dollar online game or tourney
