Is daily preprocessing different from pre competition preparation?

What do you think about this?

When a player is going to participate in something important, he usually begins a preparatory process, but we as poker players must always be prepared.

How far can our confidence change in our a-game?

Hello.
I think the best preparation for any important activity is regular sports and daily meditation. And you need to start as early as possible, such as yesterday. :)

My preparation is done the day before. Like to make sure I'm getting plenty of rest and not trying stressful activities before the event. Sometimes a bad day at work that doesn't give you enough time to unwind can be negative energy.

Try to stay positive and prepare with some blood circulating and healthy food.

I don't think we need preparation to play poker, what we really need is luck.

for online poker, absolutely no preparation. i just turn it on and multi task while playing. however for live poker, i know my sessions will be a minimum 6 hrs. i make sure i have my headphones ready, my backup charger ready, and my phone fully charged. i also try to get a good night's sleep but in vegas that's a rarity

Confidence is key... BUT... the science behind preparation is so delicate for me that is hard to categorize, or ritualize... It depends a lot on "state of mind".. pre-game, and even during a game...
My issue is staying on pulse with the game and the table I am on...
I try to smoke the right grade, in the right amounts, and avoid having distractions... because its 4 hours of intense concentration...
nuts in the shell...peanuts and walnuts especially, with raisins or prunes...help me very much, allowing me to fidget around, and not lose concentration... the nut crunching is known to have an alertness boosting effect.
and room temp water...

For me, the best preparation is a good rest and a healthy sleep. And a good mood is the key to enjoying the process of the game.

stay positive, study your sessions to see what you did good v what you did bad, and you will improve immensely. Remember about variance, some bad loses doesn't mean that you aren't improving..

I have simple rules that i try to follow:

1. Do not play drunk or tired
2. Do not play hungry or thirsty
3. Go to the toilet before MTT start

As far as these are covered i am ok to start playing.
