Hi guys,

A quick pot odds question

according to the world poker tour calculator A-10 suited vs KK is approximately a 3 to 1 underdog. So if the pot were paying us 2.5 to 1 then in theory we wouldnt call preflop, assuming we put our opponent on kings right?

But I was watching a youtube video with Daniel Negreanu explaining this exact situation and he said you would have to make the call in this case. He said that A-10 suited is only a 2 to 1 underdog agians a pair of kings

Who's right who's wrong or am I not understanding this right?

Thanks

Negreanu is right-- ATs is a 2-1 dog here, so any pot odds better than that would justify a call. What may have happened on WPT (assuming this was television) is another opponent mucked an A, which would obviously decrease the number of outs the player had.

Something I completely forgot about is if this is preflop, on the flop, etc... My calculation was preflop.

Well just looked at the cardplayer odds calculator heres the odds
A 10 diamonds vs. Ks Kc 32.65%/66.98%
A 10 diamonds vs. Ks Kd 32.08%/67.47%

so I didn't believe it but yea A 10 suited is 2 to 1 underdog vs Kings

Its actually the pot odds calculator on the world poker tour website that gave me these odds.

Ok maybe because I failed grade 7 math but a 33% to 66% odds are 2-1 not 3-1.
