i am considering getting a new computer with 2-3 screens and playing across more then one site probably 2-6 sites. i know two sites is possible as i have done this with full tilt and poker stars. i was thinking of 4+ sites none of which would be poker stars or full tilt. 1 on ongame network 1 on ipoker network 1 on everest and possibly party poker network plus one or two others.

my friend has advised me it is not doable to play across several sites.

i figure if you have 2-3 screens it should be.

i have yet to try this so would appreciate advice/feedback from anyone who has tried it.

note if you have not then your advice probably is not useful here.

Totally doable. You will not be able to access more than one skin per network.

thanks based on your post count i assume i can trust your opinion though i would like to hear from others.

i would not need to play on more then one skin for each network because the idea is to do it so i can get enough games going. in theory it would be a good way to cheat if you could play on more then one skin but that wouldnt be worth it because.

1. the risk of been caught would not make it a good long term idea
2. id probably confuse myself trying this
3. i have ethical values and been the victim of cheating before could not let myself do it to others.
4. like you said the networks wont let you anyway.

I regularly play on Merge and WPN, with maybe some Stars and Bovada going all at the same time, and I have a 6 year old laptop.

There are a few networks that seem to be more resource heavy, but I don't know who they are, only that I remember reports of such things. But if you are going for a new PC, just get more RAM.

If in doubt, try it out using play money tables. Open one skin, then open another and another until your curiosity is satiated.

Just start up all the clients you tend to use if they all start and let you login at the same time. Then it works.

It will work, but brother it is intense, if you're able to handle it then by all means rake it up, I just can't actually focus on that much going on at one time. I've seen videos of guys that can do it and make it look easy. But I try to stick to one to two games at a time, it helps me focus and analyze so much better

Ditto...don't need multiple screens either...one computer screen is enough for what you want to do. But, why necessarily multiple sites?

The key here is RAM. If you can't open all the sites you want... add more RAM.

aside from a good hemi you will also need a good processor and hsi, I doubt that you are on a 56k modem but you never know,i run merge, black chip, bovada and betonline once in a while at the same time and have no issues, except for betonline freezing once in a hour but that is due to theyre crappy software other than that everything else runs smoothly.

Another trick is to customize all your tables on all sites to look as close to the same as possible, I choose very dark backgrounds, green felt, and 4 color decks.

You can if you use 'sandboxie'. With the free version you can access two skins on same network. I've read on other forums where players do this but not to be able to play in same tournaments but instead so that they can play in the private forum tournaments or special VIP games specific to one poker room. Sometimes the start times are close to being at the same time so some players will download sandboxie so they can play in both of them.
I tried this once before while in two different games on the Merge network. One was a New Depositor freeroll and the other was a private forum freeroll and they both started at close to the same time. I found out about sandboxie software from reading about it on a forum. I think if you get the paid for version you would be able to log on to more than two sites on the same network but with the free one you can only go on two.

Wouldn't you want the different sites to be coloured differently so it would be easier to tell them apart at quick look at them?

well yeah unless the blind levels and structures are the same would help to be able to tell sites apart. it can make a difference to strategy.

I have a 7 year old computer on XP, 4 gigs of ram and use a max 1.5mbps dsl connection and have played on 3 sites at the same time. It get's a little slow. I recommend opening the clients up first before you start opening tables. One thing I tried to do (unsucessfully) is change the ports each client connection went through. Maybe someone else that knows about porting can chime in here if that will help or not.

They will catch you if you bypass the 1 skin rule. When they catch you, they will erase you, with no warning, and never an explanation. You will come here and bitch, but in the end you will fade away, and in the process you will have lost not only the entertainment value of OLP, but any bankroll you had.

We see it several times a year here.

Under normal circumstance, it is no problem for a net admin to trace a player to his/her specific PC, and along the path they get an address for the router you use at home, and when they see 2 PC's using that same router, red flags go up. All they need to nail your ass is one alert player suggesting there might be something funny going on, and those red flags turn into BLARING HOT SPOTLIGHTS, and wham....bye bye you! I am sure their tracking software is way way way beyond that simple scenario, so it probably doesn't even need a suspicious complaint.

If you don't believe this...well, let me say bye bye now, as you will squirm and bitch until you give up and fade away.....

^This

With all the effort you are wanting to put into your venture listen to the wisdom above , it would be a shame to have it be for naught.

Wait wtf, why? Also, when you say skin, do you mean like playing on betfred and ipoker, or do you mean playing on stars and party at the same time?

Like playing on 2 sites on the same network, with 2 accounts.
stars and party are 2 different 'networks' so that's not a problem. (should be possible with tilt and stars, even now they are owned by the same people they aren't strictly a network)
william hill and paddy poker for example are both on ipoker, so that would breech their t+c's and they will block your accounts. probably without warning and with no comeback. bye bye bank roll.

You could easily open up 1 ipoker site, 1 merge site and stars and play with no problems on as many tables as you liked. if your pc is good enough, if not you can use your tablet or phone too and play on Switch Poker as well.
that's some degen gaming right there tho!

make sure to get sky poker on your tv and be reading a poker blog or 2 for total poker immersion.

I'm not allowed to watch/use Netflix when 'you-know-who' is playing poker because he flips out saying it uses up alot of bandwidth or something like that. Netflix doesn't seem to work too great here even without poker running. What internet provider do you use?
We have shaw cable here and since Jan.1st we have been having issues with it. The Mbps they promise is nowhere close to being accurate (20.0). Sometimes it has been as low as 1.2 and even 0.3 at certain times of the day but at other times it is at or close to the full 20.0 and sometimes slightly higher at 22.0+

Carbon was one of them, but now they seem to run good well running other sites. :)

There is no reason why you couldn't do this, but if you are planning on playing them all at the same time you're going to have to be alert, I sometimes play two at the same time and that's about enough for me! Good luck to you though
