I've seen a few threads arounds here regarding both sets of software. I have not seen any new updated one's though. I was wondering if I could get some opinions from those of you that use them, and which one you would BUY & why.

Currently I have a trial of both expiring and I need a little bit of help making a decision on which one to buy.

My thoughts are that PT3 is easier to use, but HEM has alot more features and stats. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

Right now I am leaning towards buying PT3. I have to make a decision by Monday so any help would be excellent!!!!

It goes that way sometimes.

Personally, I like HEM, especially now that it supports tournaments, although now I rarely play them. Either one is fine, it's just which one you're used to, I think. To me, HEM is easier to use and does everything I ask of it.

Ok is there anything that HEM does that PT3 does not do?

Well, I've used HEM extensively, and only used the PT3 demo briefly, so I can't say. It was the second time I'd tried the PT3 demo (different computers) and it was better the second time around.

What is it you are looking for specifically? Maybe I can answer whether HEM will do it or not.

HEM is better and it's not even close, imo.

Give people a little more time on a weekend.

Do you primarily play cash games or tournaments? I play cash only, I absolutely love HEM and highly recommend it. I can't say anything about tournies for either program, although HEM's latest version included tourney support.

So could someone explain what the difference is? What does HEM do that makes it so special?

it works.

tbh, reliability issues are pretty much solved now, but when PT3 was officially released, it was just a piece of junk that was totally useless as a HUD as soon as you played more than a handful of tables.

OTOH, I don't remember a single HEM release that was unplayable. That's a huge plus for HEM.

Are there any tweaks or tricks for HEM I should know about?

HEM has a free trial that you can use on any site that it supports, including Full Tilt. You could use your trial on more than one site if you wanted to.

If you want a good (read: not free) program, I wouldn't look past these two.
