Just finished reading the Pokerstove article and am wondering if I am missing something. Part of the article shows the following:
a) UTG a tight player raises 3% of the time
b) UTG an average player raises 10% of the time
c) UTG a LAG player raises 20% of the time
d) UTG a maniac raises 50% of the time

I am under the impression that Poker Tracker and others provide this information. My question revolves around a tip stated by Chris Ferguson - If you're the first to enter the pot in NLHE games you should never call, either raise or fold. If anyone should apply this tip, wouldn't it mean that you would be raising 100% of the time, even though only top hands are played? And how would you classify this type of player? (worse than maniac???) Does this mean that some information provided by any tracking system could be misleading?
I used Holdem Indicator when I played on the PC, but since I am now playing on a MAC, I don't use anything (haven't really looked if anything is available and even if it is don't know if I would).

you're just confusing the 2 numbers

the list means out of all the UTG hands the player has been dealt, they raise that % of the time
it's not showing how often they raise compared to just calling
it's showing how much they raise from the position overall

From what I've heard, the best tracking software for a mac is Poker Co-Pilot.

DOH!!! - must be because I'm Canadian EEHH!

Probably tried to read something into the statements that wasn't there, when I should have realized that it's the percentage of hands dealt, not played.
Thanks for the kick in the butt LOL. Will also check out Poker Co-Pilot.
