So, i was watching this vid on youtube where a guy who was said to be a loose player said he would fold all his hands for a period of time, HOW EVER, i would assume if you are playing poker competitively you CANT be folding AA preflop to a $2000 raise. These guys probably were playing for fake chips :D, this was just crazy, yes he was dominated on the flop, but still PRE-FLOP FOLD??????? LOL MADNESS in my opinion. So many things he could have done preflop to collect the blinds. All in play wouldve probably made lakk dump those 66s, idk, looking forward to hearing you guys thoughts

He wanted to book a freerolled win for a lot of real world money and possibly earn the prize package for being the biggest loose cannon winner for the season.

It was pot limit preflop so he would have to play postflop with a lot of chips behind. Everyone at the table knew he was in lockdown mode and could therefore apply pressure.

I would happily fold AA when all 8 villains shoved their stack.

The loose cannon has already reached his target and he has a plan to fold rest of his hands if he reached his target. He cannot walk away since pokerstars's commitment requires him to play certain number of hands before he can quit.

I don't blame him. He wants to get out with +ve money. Its not tournament, the blinds are constant. He is committing to his plan which ensures success at the end since he already has enough chips. He is playing against pros who sometimes don't care about these chips and will call with anything just for the sake of fun. Good Decision.

You can't say it was a good move just because he would lose on the flop. You can't play poker thinkin on the results. it is never a good move to fold nuts!

AA is good against 3 opponents, 4 is already to much.
For example, if I have AA on UTG I raise 2,5x or 3x and someone raises me then 5 players call, I can shove or I can fold, call is not an option, cause now I have 60% so I need to take it off some players from this game

Fold AA pre flop is something very hard. More then anything

Well solely based on this i can understand but he could have still call the flop and check fold if anything... what if A A X came on the flop, he would have felt terribly, Losing $2000 could not have significantly effect his chip stack. Despite committing to plan or whatever it was a very terrible play. Could have call to see a flop, $2000 would not have hurt him and then if he wanted to fold after the flop so be it.

It was pot limit preflop, if it was no limit then he could easily shove preflop if he's scared to play postflop.

AA seems an illusion of poker which can win always.
Those who can fold with AA at preflop must have strong control of oneself.

AA does not give 100% to win but it's the best card before the flop and throw it very hard not seeing the flop !!!!

Actually his fold is almost certainly correct. So he probably has somewhere between 95-100% of his bankroll on the table. Actually he could even have 120% of his bankroll on the table if he is in debt and his networth is negative. So naturally he would like to cash out. But that is not allowed, he has to play another 30 or 40 hands before he can cash out. So he can fold every hand, for an expected loss of whatever, 10k, and be sure of winning whatever, say 90k. Or he can play, and potentially lose 100k, which is his entire bankroll or actually more than his bankroll. Even if he had a positive winrate in this game, which he almost certainly doesn't, it is just too much risk for too little reward. Any time you have even 10% of your bankroll on the table you should quit; having 100% of your bankroll on the table is just suicidal.

Even in no limit hold'em he could only jam all in if he was virtually certain he wouldn't get calls. He should even go as far as to show his cards, if that will not get his hand called. You wouldn't really want to risk more than 60% of your bankroll on AA all in preflop.

Basically just because a wager has a positive expectation doesn't mean you should take it, if it means you have to risk too much of your bankroll.

Think about the free marketing he got. It's a lot for a pro and he can have some sponsors trow this. Maybe he's just thinking ahead.

Lol I never fold AA preflop ....NEVER lol.... It is ridiculous, if you are afraid of playing the best pair preflop you should not play poker even having a poor streak playing preflop or maybe having a series of bad beats with strong pairs like AA KK QQ, but this is poker and we see everything a little. I remember that I play one day with KK AA QQ and lose all hands and my best decicion was stop play these day.

He managed to fold a hand that I would have shoved pre and lost. I just can not think of many spots where folding AA pre is a good play.
