When do you end your session? Is it a set time, amount won or lost?
There have been so many times that I have been up a significant amount only to end my session down all because of one or two cooler hands. The session that put me over the edge I had a set of kings lose to quad 10's on the river and Aces being cracked by trip 2's on the river. These hands were back to back to make things worse.
For the last 3 months I have played until I have either reached my goal or lost 2 buy-ins. This can either be 1 minute or 6 hours. Although I love to play poker I have to remind myself that I play for the money. If I reach my goal in a few minutes I have the rest of the day to do what I want.
I acknowledge that some people would think I'm leaving money on the table if I leave while I'm hot, but I would rather guarantee a profit than hitting a cooler and end the session down.
To make a long story short I believe in consistency day in day out rather than swings.

I set it on time, disregard results, completely irrelevant. Don't care if i'm up/down 10 buy-ins when that time limits reached i'm done. Quitting after losing 2 buy-ins is pretty ridiculous, maybe after losing ten as then i'd start to question my play but 2 nah. Don't look to much into your sessions, as long as you're making money over tens of thousands of hands that's all you need to worry about.
