PokerHost called me on the phone today

I just signed on on Poker Host last night, just to check them out and check out their freerolls, and just a few minutes ago they called me up on the phone just to see what i thought of their site. i thought this was a little odd. are they a new site or something? and have they called anyone else?
also, the one comment i made to them, which i will now also make here. i was playing in one of their freerolls last night and i was all in against one other player preflop, and they didn't flip the cards over. the cards just came up on the board and once they were all up, both hands were flipped over like in a ring game. i was just wondering if anyone else had expirenced this, and also if their are any other sites that do this in tounaments. i've played in quite a few online poker rooms and never seen that before.

Just did quick check on them and they are only 9 months old. It is administered by SBG Global who is one of the worlds biggest online casinos/sportsbooks with about 10 years experience.

This is probably why they are doing check ups on their new customers to make sure its up to standards. Went and checked out their site which is nice, might have to add it to my website I think.

Got 3 big names attached to it too, Hoyt Corkins, Mihn Nguyen and Amir Vahedi who you are supposed to be able to play against online and get tips from... while they take your money :shot:

Not sure about PH, but months ago when the hubby signed up at AP, they called him here at the house. Thought that was kind of different. Made me want to say hmmmmmm.

They are just trying to increase the number of players by making sure everyone is happy. Happy players tell other people about their site and so on. It gives them feedback on what they are doing right or wrong.

well, beased on what i'm read about them here, i certainly can't see myself ever depositing there, but they have heads up freerolls that i just can't resist. and i don't see the point of playing agains pros either. personally i'd rather play bad players

I wish that were totally true. I know there is a particular site that that I won't go back to.(I won't say it because it kind of freaked me out what they did) I called their support and did a little bit of nice complaining. Another phone call was needed either the same day or next morning, the complaint was a little more harsh, when the support gal on the phone got a little testy with me I got testy back told her if something wasn't done or atleast acknowledge about the situation that I was going to tell my friends and etc.......
they blocked my account. Now I REALLY wasn't happy! I called them back and got ahold I know of the same gal but supposedly different name,asked her what was up with that and was told they didn't need threatning phone calls. I asked for the supervisor, apologized for my harshness but still wanted some satisfaction for the previous problem. I got my account unblocked but never got the other situation resolved. Never played at the site again even though I still have my account. I wish some of these sites would realize if they hack off too many players that forums and friends alike are going to leave them. I wish they were all like some other's support systems. Okay sorry about being way too long.
