When you're on a losing streak, don't panic. The more you feel yourself forcing a winning hand, the wiser it is to get away from the table immediately. A frustrated player trying to recoup losses is a poker player at his worst.

i feel a bit out of sync at the moment i am letting my emotions rule my poker decisions which is a terrible combination and probably the reason ive hit a dry spell. i need to stop thinking and start playing

It's the kind of reason why a lot of poker players at tournaments like to have music players of some description (where they're allowed, anyway) - it helps you to keep your mind off how long its been since you had a playable hand, and helps maintain patience.

Hey dopeychick, if you are on a really "bad run", then it might behoove you to quit playing altogether for 1 week or so. Of course, a lot depends on high a limit you are playing. My thought really should be taken, if you are playing in higher limits.
