Which poker variants have the highest amount of skill and edge to the better players?
I only know how to play NL Hold Em at the moment and don't really know other games.

Stud Hi is very easy game to pick up... But when you start looking into it is very complex! And plenty of people not knowing how to play it properly!

I would have to go with PLO. Probably the easiest game to make a transition to from hold em. Also the game that I think you can make the most money from. Just my opinion.

Stud Hi looks as simple as anything ... but you have to be very very attentive, you have to remember so many folded cards, and you need good reads and a good knowing of where you stand.
PLO would be another nominee. To read the board, to count position in - and not to overestimate your hand (which means that you often have to act in a painfully realistic way) can be quite hard.

Considering that in PLO most hands are at most 60-40, I don't think PLO would be a candidate for least amount of variance.

I couldn't agree more, but I don't think he wanted us to specify a game with the least amount of variance. He asked which poker VARIANT gave the most edge to skilled players. Assuming Xavier here is playing to make money long term I'm standing by PLO.

I would say stud hi gives the biggest advantage to people with the best memories. Ex. If you can remember every card that was dealt up before people fold them = HUGE adv.

Don't really need a good memory, just take a lot of notes. I would have to say Razz, a little more complicated than stud and in Razz the player with the most skill at the table will generally do better more often than skilled players in stud will.
