Poker Tracker Hacked?

What the hell is all this about?
The poker tracker website is not working at the moment, and when i open up poker tracker it takes like 30 seconds to check for new versions.
Ive been warned to not to download any updates from poker tracker and i advise everyone to do the same.

Maybe the sever just went down?

You do realize it checks for new versions from the site, so if the site's down, logically, the program won't be able to get info from the site, or it'll take a long time.

Just wait until tomorrow and it'll likely be right back to normal.

It has been hacked.

After reading the thread it looks like there are currently no malicious updates that can downloaded to PT. Best to be watchful though.

usually when you download a patch for PT it is a file that goes to your harddrive that you open and it updates PT. If site is hijacked someone could put whatever they want in said files and it goes right to your harddrive. Hello virus?

Yes sorry I wasn't very clear. Although it appears there are no current viruses, as per 4aces- do not download any updates from PT!!!

Best to disconnect from net before opening PT. Make sure you are set to Manual Update and then reconnect.

The Poker Tracker help menu, has a menu item called:
"Check for new Version Preferences".

If you click on that you will see 2 options:
"No, Don't check for a new version, I will check manually"
and
"Yes, check each time I open Poker Tracker".

Select the first one until you want to check for an upgrade.
When you think there is an upgrade available, select the second one,
then exit & restart Poker tracker.

When you're done go back to the first option.
