Hey guys,
I've been thinking recently about getting Poker Tracker; and as I was thinking about buying it, I started thinking about how fair it really is.
Now, I know it is not a bot, and can't make any suggestions or decisions for you, and all it does is give you information. Information that anybody with a pen paper present could gather. But the difference is, you wouldn't.
MANY of the people using PT would never pay attention to the information that is being gathered by the software. How many players, that if it were not for PT, would actually keep track of % of flops played, raises, position each player made his moves from, how much was bet in relation to the pot, and the cards that they showed down with, FOR EACH OF THEIR OPPONENTS AT EVERY TABLE THEY ARE PLAYING AT?
Nobody does that, not many people have the memory capable of that. PT is just giving information that is already available to you yes, but information no player would be able to keep track of in its entirety.
So is isn't it kind of cheating?
And now for my next point, even if it is sort of cheating, what percentage of online players do you think are using it? because if its a lot, it might just be something that has to be looked at as "part of online play" and nothing more. which is what they way im starting to look at it.
Still curious about opinions tho...
