Hey everyone,

Today I would like to share another entertaining video that I like to call it: When the poker pros get mad, we get to laugh :)

Oldies and classics with a few newer ones, sure you're familiar with most clips here, still it makes a great day to see these pros get mad and tilted.

Enjoy and open up, what were your best or worst tilt moments around the poker table?

Have a great day everyone!

Right??

It's like it's punishment this game is to them, so why do you keep playing if you don't enjoy? LOL...

Too sad DevilFish is no longer with us :( He was a very colorful character around the poker table.

Thanks for sharing.

Poker is like a double edged sword. It can be a lot of fun, and it can be punishment. I can definitely understand their frustration when they get beat by hands people shouldn't even be playing. Apparently you can't get away from the bad play at any price level.

The most epic display of tilt occurred the day the Bellagio opened their poker room. I was there, playing 10/20 7-Stud. Puggy Pearson was also there, and wasn't having much luck, and went on major tilt in the higher limit games. He lost and lost, and finally put his last $500 in the same 10/20 game I was playing. I helped relieve him of a good portion of what was left of his 'roll. (He knew me from playing Omaha-8 at Caesar's.)

Needless to say, I had seldom seen 7-Stud played that badly. Puggy was literally playing any three, jamming pots with absolute garbage. That was the night he got perma-banned.

The main problem is that Helmuth, especially, isn't getting pist at necessarily bad play. I don't see how calling a routine raise with QT-suited is so bad. Hell, there's a vid from "Poker After Dark" or "High Stakes Poker" where Helmuth called a raise with QT-off He was simply upset because he got beat when the straight came in. That's NBD.

I also suspect that Helmuth brought a lot of this on himself. If he keeps whining about how he's always getting beat, or that this hand didn't treat me right yesterday, and on and on and on he's inviting the other players to take shots at him. You would think he'd know better: "Nice hand, sir", and move on. Yes, there are many times I'm thinking what Helmuth says, but I keep it to myself. Why complain and possibly wise up the others there at the table, especially if it really is bad play? Doesn't make any sense.

Indeed, after spending hours around the table, concentrating and focusing on the game, doing your best and then losing in one hand, it's hard to take, that's where you have to be mentally strong.

I also have problems with tilt.. Sometimes I am thinking about quitting poker career.

It takes time to master your emotions and build yourself as a player, with time and experience you'll learn to control your tilt as well.

Great story, thanks for sharing :)

I agree about Hellmuth, crying about it won't make it better and you would have expected a pro to know how to act and take these kind of plays and tilt.

Still, I think he matured this year, at least according to the last Main Event.

He got perma-banned for going on tilt, playing badly, and losing all his money? That seems like a terrible reason to ban someone.

Or is there more to the story?

He has an interesting life story, it's worth checking it out.

Phil said that poker is his life.
Hope he doesnt take his work home. Would make for a hectic place to be.

He also said something about the way poker is today.
Well, poker is the same, its players that are changing.

Poker today is more aggressive and is played for higher stacks thanks to online player and young players who are more daring than before.

Phil is used to the old days when he ruled the poker scene, but today it's more difficult for him because as great as a poker player that he is, and he is, he still plays pretty tight relatively to the other players these days, that is why he is so pissed, he did not adjust his game to the current time.

Still, he is a great player, not taking this away from him.

I particularly do not play live poker. online only! Whenever I take bad beats is part of this game and I try to stay calm and go to the next game, but sometimes it has the will to break the computer screen! Hahaha

I guess that's the side-effect of being a human being :)
