Maybe this is common knowledge, but I really never noticed it or felt the need for it before. Has anyone played at a ring table at poker stars, trying to take a very loose aggressive player's money while being harassed consistently? Players at the table being called "crack heads", "idiots", and such, I suppose have to turn the chat off or not look at it. In Play Money Ring Land, there's a button when clicking on the dealer's chips which can call the moderator over, which can and will give warnings and bans for less irritating talk than mentioned above. The Play Money players are obviously less disgusting than the real money one's and need a Big Brother to watch over them, but when something does occur in Real Money, where Poker Stars makes all of their money, apparently they don't care if you're harassed with stereotypical childish name calling no matter what's been said because there is no mod button to even click. (I'm not sure about sitngo's or tournies) Maybe it's because they have "pit bosses" to watch over their tables, assume they'll be emailed if it gets bad enough, assume real money players don't want to lose their privilege to play there, or they plainly guess the players don't mind because it's easy money for the abuse and the "mute button" is always there. Then again, one could sit at a table, not play and harass anyone at will without a problem. I suppose giving up one's chat is what has to be done to sit at a private companies table who permits racism and such as long as they take their rake and take your money. I guess there was nothing left to do but take the madman's money and leave, because that's what I did. It's too bad I and the rest of the table had to be harassed for it though.

If you just send an email to pokerstars support about it they will usually deal with it very quickly. PokerStars has some of the best Customer Support around.

Moochers

I was railing Beardyian and Kenzie play HU Match at PokerStars.
I told a Moocher to go away repeatedly and the kept coming back with some sob story and crying about feeding her kid..LOL

I saved the Text and emailed it to support

~This is the reply, in 15 mins.~
"Hello VintageV8, I appreciate the time you took to write us regarding your concern. As we cannot monitor every table 24 hours, we are glad to have players as our "eyes and ears". After review of the chat log, we have issued this player a warning. Our goal at PokerStars is to be a fun place to play, where everyone can feel comfortable. Being accosted for chips at every turn takes away from everyone's enjoyment, and therefore cannot be permitted. If this warning goes unheeded, his chat privilege may be revoked. Regards, Alex S - PokerStars Support Team."

Beardyian won the match it was a good back & forth battle for sure.
Almost an hour.

Exactly my point. Why have a mod button for non-paying members , but when someone who is actually making them money, feels they need assistance, they've removed the button and have to email in the complaint? Backwards if you ask me.

it's even worse at bodog because so many people know how to get past the censors , it's hard not to go on tilt trying to crush them , thats probably why so many do it. I have fell into the trap many times and cuss them back but the quality of my game always goes down from there. we need to learn to ignore them , keeping a smile on our face ,just shaking our head at their stupidity and crushing them when opportunity knocks. that certainly doesn't mean not report them ,we should , and if we post it on here we can double team them , maybe even flood support with complaints on them .that should get some action. :)

Thats weird I like them people, they show their low class which makes them an easy target for getting more chips, but hey I do have an idea, I like to watch the the stats in the chat box on poker stars, lets you see how you are doing and you don't see any chat at all, problem solved somewhat.

A. Some people do care.
B. I obviously did because I wrote about it.
C. Please do not think for a second that is a quality response in any form of the matter. Thank you.

pffff...you are complaining about some idiots on poker stars(and there are alot of them) that have the time to sit and beak people from the rail. Clearly you care....lol But why not just turn ur chat too the stats page or something were you dont have to be so concerned about it lol. I cant belive you cant even ignore someone online...you dont even have to listen to their anoying voice lol. And no offence or anything but you must have low self estem to let those people get to you!!

Allot of information is offered when a player tilts via chat, either while still at the table or on the rail. If derogatory comments are being made towards you, a good online poker player would be able to ignore them, not tilt, and notes should be taken on the aggressor. This type of behavior is usually from a constant losing player. Many players will get into a shouting match, and their immediate response could be tilt, and benefit your stack. I would never complain about an asshole, considering their play is always the same. I've seen live games almost get to swings. And every week take the chips away from the same group of hot heads.

With the ease of not having to respond online to hot heads, makes it senseless too. (stupid is what stupid does) I hope that was the Gump quote.

I just want to stop everyone, say THIS IS THE LAST POST IN THIS THREAD. I don't want to see any comments about ignorance is bliss and shit. I obviously can't stop people from posting either. Let the creator, a.k.a. me, respectfully choose to end the thread, and if a mod would like to close it, then Ty.

My point was, there is NO mod button in real money play, but in fake money land there IS a button. I think Larkem proved my point to an extent.Thank you for everyone who posted. Have a good one.

"Sticks and stones can break my bones but words will never hurt me"

If they are making threats, that is illegal. Pokerstars has chosen to make further restrictions, which seems to be what people are talking about. If you think people are violating the pokerstars terms (which everyone has to agree to to play) then email them, sending an email is not hard. If they are hurting your feelings and it's not against pokerstar's terms, then you have some options. Don't play, hide the chat, or just realize that this is an anonymous person behind a computer screen most likely hundreds of miles away. Unless they are threatening you (which would be tough, because you also are an anonymous user sitting behind a computer screen, likely hundreds of miles away), it cannot hurt you. There is also a mute button, so you can still leave chat on and not listen to their idiocy.

It does get annoying. Especially when someone gets a bad beat and rails the table for 15-30 min. talking about how terrible everyone is, etc., etc. etc. But you can ignore it, because they will go away. Or tell them they are right they are the greatest ever and you got lucky, a lot of times that works also.

To the folks that disagree with the thread you don't have to post anything here.

Nice avator also wsorbust!!

Why do you care? It's text in a freakin' box. They lost, you beat them, why do you even care what they say/think? And as has been said, the box turns off.

Hell, my parents taught me how to deal with annoying people in dealing with my little brother. Ignore them, they lose their satisfaction, and they go away. Add onto the fact that you don't even have to look, it doesn't matter what they type (unless it's hindering your ability to talk to another member at the table, in which case I'd agree and report them, but that doesn't seem to be the case here). People are going to think you suck, you think the pros weren't ever in this situation? You don't think people told Phil Ivey he sucked? Let the results do the talking. Who cares if the guy who busted out wants to say you suck? Let your results do the talking. It's hard to tell someone who just won a tournament they suck, and if they still do, it doesn't matter because you're sitting on a wad of money :).

It's been said before, if you just want your view repeated, for people to tell you "you're completely right" and to boost your ego (as it seems you have a fragile ego if idiots from he rail can upset you), then go start your own blog. You can moderate comments all you want and even post under different names about how great you are. But if you post here you'll get honest responses, and I happen to like that about this site.

I'll usually just play with them. Since I'm K_Kahne_Fan and I have the Texans for my image, I usually get "Khane sux", or "Texans can't win"... I usually just say "ok", or "yeah he's had a horrible season this year". If they then tell me I suck, I tell them I probably do, which is why I'm on the $3.00 tourney table or $.05/$.10 table. Just act like you don't care and they'll eventually go away... sometimes they actually end up talking normal. I've seen "Khane is gay", and if I just say "ok", then I might get... "I like Stewart" and we start talking.

Also, on Bodog I know you can highlight your chat convo, press "cntrl+c" on your keyboard, go to an email and press "cntrl+v" and it will paste the convo to an email which you can send to admin. I was in a s-n-g with 2 other players remaining when 2 people who were never in the tourney started chatting about which table they would meet at. Then they actually had the nerve to discuss their hands! I copied it and sent it in. BD emailed back that they would investigate.

They are not discriminating cash vs play chip tables. PS never had this program until approx 8 months ago. They started adding it with play chip tables. Very likely because this is where many new cash depositors come from, after playing a while to check out the site features and options. Who wants to join a site where unchecked abusive chat abounds?

Instant online intervention for all games, all tables, will take a huge increase in online staff 24/7. Whether they expand it to all tables, all games, will likely depend on how well the 'call mod' program works during it's test phases.

And they probably want to test it on play before cash in case it didn't work. You don't want to offer your cash tables a feature that either isn't needed, or sucks. Now that they know it works, maybe they'll bring it over to the cash games. (and maybe others will follow their lead)

You are exactly right. Of my 13 posts in all of them I needed my ego boosted. LOL I appreciate the fact that you decided to "quote" my entire post and give honest responses. Thanks again.

Oh yeah, being annoyed and actually having my play bothered is 2 totally different things to me.

You literally told everyone who disagreed with you to go away and shut up, granted in nicer words.

And no text in a text box should be able to bother your play.
