Maybe this is common knowledge, but I really never noticed it or felt the need for it before. Has anyone played at a ring table at poker stars, trying to take a very loose aggressive player's money while being harassed consistently? Players at the table being called "crack heads", "idiots", and such, I suppose have to turn the chat off or not look at it. In Play Money Ring Land, there's a button when clicking on the dealer's chips which can call the moderator over, which can and will give warnings and bans for less irritating talk than mentioned above. The Play Money players are obviously less disgusting than the real money one's and need a Big Brother to watch over them, but when something does occur in Real Money, where Poker Stars makes all of their money, apparently they don't care if you're harassed with stereotypical childish name calling no matter what's been said because there is no mod button to even click. (I'm not sure about sitngo's or tournies) Maybe it's because they have "pit bosses" to watch over their tables, assume they'll be emailed if it gets bad enough, assume real money players don't want to lose their privilege to play there, or they plainly guess the players don't mind because it's easy money for the abuse and the "mute button" is always there. Then again, one could sit at a table, not play and harass anyone at will without a problem. I suppose giving up one's chat is what has to be done to sit at a private companies table who permits racism and such as long as they take their rake and take your money. I guess there was nothing left to do but take the madman's money and leave, because that's what I did. It's too bad I and the rest of the table had to be harassed for it though.
