I read on DN's blog that Poker Stars is not allowing any of it's Pros play on Poker After Dark anymore. DN said that he wouldn't go into it in any real depth, but agrees with Poker Stars decision. I googled it to see what the deal was, and I guess Poker After Dark is a Full Tilt production. Watching it in the US it really isn’t that apparent, but in the overseas markets it is. So I guess what is going on here is that PS doesn’t want it’s players marketing for Full Tilt. Make sense, but I don’t think I agree. I mean if their pros are wearing PS gear, which they do, what’s the problem?

I think it sucks, because I like watching DN play and I enjoy watching PAD. I guess it really only effects DN and Barry Greenstein because I don’t really remember seeing many other PS pros on there. However, when it comes to poker there isn’t many TV choices. PAD is the only one that is on M – F every week. I can’t stand the Heart land tour and the WPT tour. Something about their presentation just drives me nuts. I wish ESPN would show more poker on a regular basis. Seems like it’s always hit or miss and I believe they only show the WSOP and the Europe WSOP.

So… This is the last year you’ll see DN on Poker After Dark:(

in some countries i think pad is actually called "the full tilt poker show" or something like that, which probably helps explain why PS wants nothing to do with it.

Damn shame...hopefully change will come about in the near future...

I believe Clonie is in a lawsuit with Full Tilt, so I doubt she will be on either.

I've seen Chad Brown and maybe Hachem on PAD. However, I don't recall ever seeing Rousso, Becker, or Raymer. However, I haven't seen every episode or every week, so I'm probably wrong.

Rousso's been on at least twice.

I was wondering why they've had some pretty crappy fields lately. (compared to previous seasons) Such a sick show too, damn.

It seems to me that PokerStars is doing a better job when it comes to the actual poker: quality promotions, customer service, wide variety of games, client software, etc. But Full Tilt seems to be doing a better job with marketing and celeb endorsements.

For example, take the most recent popular threads about PokerStars regarding their 25Billion hand promotion and compare that to the most recent Full Tilt threads regarding Dwan and Antonius.

I guess it's a difference in focus. Some companies' primary focus is getting new customers, while others focus on keeping the ones they have.

I always liked High Stakes Poker better anyway. You always get a good mix of players and it`s definitely different when they are playing for their own cash. Danny Neg and Sammy Farha are my favs, Sammy can talk you out of any hand and Dan N gives some great reads and insights into how his reasoning works at a cash game. As for Clonie on PAD, well that`s what makes it worth staying up late!

Yeaph, Also given that the Poker after Dark buyins for the Pros are paid by FT, there is no wonder in PS decision....

Not being able to see Daniel sucks - that means those who make the Dream Table won't be able to play against him. That said, I think there may be another series or two where Daniel may appear since these shows have been recorded few months ahead of time. I remember reading DN's blog late last year about how horrible he played at the Golden Nugget for a PAD show. I guess the FT thing isn't too surprising since they run FT commercials during almost every single commercial break. I would've liked to see Joe Hachem on PAD too, but guess that's not gonna pan out.

I agree, VK! I like High Stakes Poker a LOT better than PAD.

It's fun to see them mix up the players on the show a little more, plus everyone seems a little more laid-back to me when they play on HSP, cutting up a little more and ragging on the geeks at the table like Hellmuth or Jamie Gold. (Of course, it might just seem that way to me b/c I'm usually half asleep when PAD is on?)

The thing that probably sucks most is for whoever wins the dream table from now on. "Oh, you want Daniel and Barry to be at your table? Too bad sucker." :p Still, I guess FTP has a number of worthy pros, but Daniel and Barry would be at the top of my list.
