I'm really not sure where to go with this. Some of you know that I'm a computer newby, so maybe you con help. This concerns trying to get the new logo on my avatar. I've got the logo in the avatar in the account section, but, it hasn't shown up while I'm playing yet. It's been up there for almost a week. Whenever I try to contact customer service they ask for a a user and password account. I'm reeeeeeally confused what the hell this is. I've put up every user account and password I can think of and still can"t get in contact with customer service. Sometimes I get a fatal error message and sometimes it just keeps flashing back for retries. Anyone help a 60yr old, confused dinosaur out with this? I've been using your site a lot and would like to help spread the word to other about it.

paste the relevant e-mails?

stars (or indeed any reputable poker site) won't ask you for your password, ever.

Thanks for trying Dorkus

Hey! Thanks for trying there, but, as I1ve said, I'm a computer newby. The only thing I know about pasting is those little things strippers wear! Maybe if you went to their customer service for me you could check out the little box I'm talking about and get back to me. By the way, it was fun playing against you in last weeks bodog freeroll. Thanks again.

They can take a while. My latest pokerstars ID took about 2 weeks. So it might be worth holding off for a bit.

As Dorkus says, they wont ask for a password in any email correspondance. Emailing them from your registered email address, quoting your Pokerstars ID, is sufficient.

... and if you actually sent your passwords anywhere, change them. Now.

No, really. Now.

Beware of Poker Stars

Yes please see thread below. I spoke with someone named Ryan and they froze my account because they claim that my brother has an issue with them. These people are outright crooks. They have no problem taking money, but do not expect to actually receive any if you win. I see now why our government feels the need to ban this.

Hello Jessica,

I am sorry you feel this way.

Your patience is appreciated.

Regards,

Bernardo

Something seems a little fishy here. It feels like to me that only some of the less experienced players have had problems with Stars. All of our loyal members have delt with Stars successfuly ever since I've been around. Sorry about your trouble, but I can't help think there is more to the story.

I'm sure you just input whatever username and password you use for that site. :)

Well first off, jlypoker, The responses received are too vague and short for me to feel that this is actually poker stars talking to you and not a con-man. Why would a guy named "Ryan" be the only one that would be able to talk to and help your situation. Why would your brother's problems have anything to do with you and your account and why would they be asking you what your old account was. They should and DO know this. I honestly think there's a lot more to the story...

As for Roland Cote, you're only allowed one username at pokerstars. You shouldnt have a problem logging into their software if you are actually the owner....and if you're not sure of the password, b/c it was a while ago when you created your account, you can do this:
You can reset your password manually by going to the main software screen, click on "Lobby" and then on "Login" and then on "Forgot Password". Enter your information and a new password will be emailed via Internet to your registered PokerStars email address. If you do so, and receive an error message, please email support with your full name and address, as well as your PokerStars user ID and we will help you get back in the game.
This is from pokerstars.com:
Password protection is your responsibility. Never reveal your PokerStars account information to anyone. We will never ask you to send your password to us, and the only place you will need to use it is when logging in to the PokerStars poker software. We recommend that you change your password regularly.
If they send you to a website and ask for your password....I'd have to believe you....but, they Shouldn't be. Email them.

EITHER WAY. Change your password IMMEDIATELY.

Pokerstars support has always been topnotch and straightforward anytime I've had dealings with them. And inputting your username and pw in a dialog box is standard procedure anytime you get on.
