Trying to compensate the loss of their poker sports betting?

I have done so in the past

Or when you can not poker, you go to sports betting? Can these two activities combine?

I have now self excluded from the sports betting section of my account. That should answer your question.

My answers in bold.

I used to do some sports betting when I lost some tournaments just to double up.Yes It could be very effective to combine poker and bettings, but also It could be devastating for your BR.Now I play bettings when I have some extra money,or when I'm "sure" that It will be succesfull bet.

If you are talking about the website Sportbetting. where you can play poker and bet on horses or bet on a live game. I guess you have to transfer the money to what side you what the money that you want to do. I have been trying to build my bank roll up on free rolls. latly there has been more and more donkey players then where it used to be. Because I like to bet on the horses. I used to work at an off track betting place in Indiana. and I used to bet on the horses after work and one time that I did that I walked out on payday with my check and I just used the tips that I earn and walked out with over 1,500.00 which was nice. i wish i can do that again would be great.

When you play poker your results mostly depends on you, but in sport betting it is just a prediction, so your profit(as I think) in it will be worse then in poker. It means that you shouldn't combine poker and sport betting.

I think that poker game is much safer than sports betting,in poker you will be able to rely on your skills and experience but in betting you need to rely on other people ,but you can combine,if confident in their decisions

I keep a roll for each separately. (1) Poker (2) Sports

I keep a ledger on all activities to keep track of my variance.

This is an ideal combination, especially on Saturdays and Sundays, the requirement is only to bet on a line that does not have to trccis to credit the betting ticket, lap top is opened, the window a couple of poker and one window for betting, priceless. . .

Of course they can, both are very good to combine and try to make some cash on one way or another. Sometimes sport bets takes me out from the poker hole.

If you're using one to try and recover from losses at the other, you might have a problem. It's all gambling, and you shouldn't try to chase your losses.

You need bigger roll in sportbetting, ofc it more predictable but still involved some risk.

Yeah they're two different things.

I've pretty much substituted sports betting for poker these days - not because I was forced to stop playing poker or because I was losing, but because playing poker doesn't suit my lifestyle any more. I've got a couple of young kids now, which doesn't give me the opportunity to play poker uninterrupted for hours on end very often. Sports betting, on the other hand, I can research and place bets when I've got a little bit of spare time, and then just catch up on the results afterwards.

So yes they're two very different things. Only a few of the skills are transferable (primarily bankroll management and approaches to risk). I enjoy them both for much the same reasons though - the mental challenge and problem solving aspect.

depends on what you bet here , for example, I bet a few days in the NBA and I bet on Oklahoma and lost at home 84-85 and then broke away Dallas with 30 points difference but I lost a bet and what to they say there are no rules in the betting it all depends on the clubs that will play the game and that does not depend on us , poker is something else needs courage and luck

Very risky, but it can payoff. There's a lot of statistics and numbers to know before betting. Each sport and league is different (although the the same sport usually has the most shared statistics). I would practice quite a bit, just like poker.

Yeah this is an important point that's overlooked a LOT - I'd say it's taken me a few years just to get to a stage where I'm not making a stupid mistake on every other bet. There's a huge amount that goes into learning to be a successful sports bettor, same as learning to be a winning poker player. It doesn't happen overnight.

But I think a lot of people probably think that because they watch a lot of football or they won their office tipping competition or whatever they could just jump straight in and be successful. It's not necessarily the case.
