Sounds interesting, if only the argument could be brought in front of a judge that knows something about poker. Its so easy for people that know nothing about it to say its all a gamble and is completely up to chance to win. I can't wait til I can move to canada.

interesting article, but I am a bit pessimistic about the outcome of preceding, after just understanding what derivatives really are, this would be unjustifiable for derivatives to be used and poker to be banned, both of whom deal with imperfect or incomplete information games based on game theory, but derivatives take it to a whole different level, the changes are to dynamic and there are too many variables. If our social laws were based on mathematics like the natural laws then poker would be considered a game of skill and not luck.:deal:

wow fatnester those were so big and complicated i had to read it twice to start to fathmom it!!! I think the problem is with the lawmakers. They want to put their beliefs and values on the rest of us because they think they are acting in their constituency's best interest when in fact they are so far removed from john q. public, they don't know sh*t from applebutter.

The problem with online gambling, as far as the government is concerned, is not that it's a game of skill or game of chance, it's that the government doesn't get any revenue from it . . . . . . . .

I really hope this goes through. I always find myself debating with my friends all the time who say I'm a "gambler" by strictly playing poker. I'm we all know here that it's more than just sheer luck as reads and other mathematical calculations factor in. Not to mention you're playing against another PERSON not just a dealer or a machine as in other casion games.

Keep us informed on what happens, good find!
